Vehicle Profile: 2018 Ford Edge
Ford’s athletic SUV gives you an edge on your daily commute

A modern SUV should provide you with the utmost in confidence whether you use it to get yourself to work on time or shuttle the kids to soccer practice. The 2018 Ford Edge does just that with an abundance of available safety technologies, but it doesn’t skimp on what Ford is arguably best known for: fun. With a sharp and stylish aesthetic, plenty of pickup to make each drive fun and convenience technologies you’ll wonder how you ever did without, the Ford Edge has found the sweet spot between fun and functionality.

Safety

The 2018 Ford Edge is available with a plethora of safety features to give you a copilot when cruising down the road. Features like Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane-Keeping System, a front 180-degree camera and Blind Spot Information System keep you safer by monitoring your surroundings and letting you know when to be extra cautious. These advanced features work alongside standard airbags and the SOS Post-Crash Alert System™ to provide exceptional peace of mind whenever you take your Ford Edge for a drive.

Performance

The 2018 Ford Edge is offered with two advanced EcoBoost® engine options that make it among the most efficient in its segment. The base engine is a twin-scroll 2.0-liter EcoBoost® that returns 20 mpg in the city and 29 mpg on the highway while delivering thrilling output at 245 horsepower and 275 lb-ft of torque.* The 2.7-liter V6 EcoBoost®, offered on the 2018 Ford Edge, ramps up the output to 315 horsepower and 350 lb-ft of torque, yet its efficiency numbers are still impressive for its class at 17 mpg in the city and 24 mpg on the highway.* For something in between, you can opt for the 3.5-liter twin independent variable camshaft timing V6, which delivers 280 horsepower and 250 lb-ft of torque.

Technology

Our lives are increasingly tied to our phones and smart devices, and the 2018 Ford Edge is ready to accommodate with available connectivity features. Ford SYNC® comes standard on all Ford Edge models, and Ford SYNC® 3 is available on upper trim levels and as an optional upgrade. The advanced Ford SYNC® 3 includes Apple CarPlay™ and Android™ Auto compatibility to work with your brand of smartphone, bringing navigation, music and more from your handset to the vehicle’s big infotainment screen.

The Ford Edge is also compatible with FordPass™, an app for your phone that helps you find and reserve parking, compare fuel prices nearby and connect with Ford for any service questions or concerns. It’s like having a personal assistant dedicated to making your driving life easier.

With some of the most advanced safety options available, high-performance and highly efficient engine options and no shortage of convenience technology, the 2018 Ford Edge is one of the soundest SUV options on the road today.
