The 2018 Ford Taurus is a full-size sedan designed for families seeking a luxurious interior, considerable engine power and the latest of in-car technologies.
As you may have expected from the 2018 Ford Taurus’ large exterior, the interior is suitably comfortable for five occupants, including three adults in the back seat. The best seats in the house are indisputably in the front, however. The front seats can be either heated or cooled and can be upgraded to include a massage feature to reduce back fatigue during long trips. The steering wheel and the rear outboard seats can also be heated. Every rider can enjoy the quality craftsmanship that went into building the 2018 Taurus, particularly the leather-upholstered seats with Mayan Gray Miko® inserts, the woven aluminum appliqué and the special embroidery on the SHO trim.
The 2018 Ford Taurus comes with a standard 3.5-liter V6 rated at 288 horsepower and 254 lb-ft of torque, which sends power to the front wheels via a six-speed automatic transmission. The Taurus SHO ups performance considerably with a 3.5-liter EcoBoost® V6 that uses two turbochargers and direct fuel injection to produce 365 horsepower and 350 lb-ft of torque. For increased control on the road, you can equip the car with all-wheel drive, which is standard on the SHO and optional on other trims. All models come standard with steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters.
The 2018 Ford Taurus is offered with SYNC® 3, the latest, quickest and most responsive Ford infotainment system yet, and which comes with an 8.0-inch touchscreen that is easy and intuitive to control thanks to pinch-and-swipe functionality and voice recognition. Available features include HD Radio™, SiriusXM®, Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™, making it easier than ever to put on your favorite playlists or tune into your favorite broadcasts. All of your music can be played through a high-quality surround sound system with 12 speakers from Sony® for the best listening experience you can find on four wheels.
The 2018 Ford Taurus nicely fills the role of a capable family hauler for those who don’t want to spend the money on a crossover or would prefer to have the extra agility of a sedan.
