Vehicle Profile: 2018 Ford Expedition Utility
Ford showcases utility with its largest SUV

Among Ford’s most popular vehicles are its SUVs. Models like the Edge and Explorer are some of the best-selling vehicles in their respective classes, but the 2018 Ford Expedition stands out as the gold standard for what a large SUV should be. With a reliable powertrain, advanced safety systems and plenty of interior space, the Expedition exemplifies the utility Ford is known for.

Plenty of elbow room

As Ford’s largest SUV, the 2018 Expedition provides you and your crew with plenty of space. The Expedition can seat up to seven or eight passengers, making it an ideal vehicle for large families. If you need more room for cargo than you do for passengers, the Expedition can accommodate. The SUV offers 20.9 cubic feet of space behind its third row and 63.6 cubic feet when the third-row seats are folded down. With both the second- and third-row seats down, you can make use of 104.6 cubic feet of available space.

Strength to take on the toughest tasks

Under the hood of the 2018 Ford Expedition is a 3.5-liter EcoBoost® V6 engine, which can generate 375 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque. That amount of power lets the Expedition achieve best-in-class towing and, when equipped with the Heavy-Duty Trailer Tow Package, the SUV can tow up to 9,300 pounds of materials and supplies. The Expedition also comes with plenty of features designed to make hauling and towing an easier endeavor, including the available Pro Trailer Backup Assist system, which allows you to steer an attached trailer while in reverse.

Safety you can rely on

Thanks to its engineering and design, the 2018 Ford Expedition is a prime example of a safe vehicle. Adding to its naturally safe structure is one of the largest collections of safety technologies found anywhere in the automotive industry. Standard systems like Electronic Stability Control and AdvanceTrac® with Roll Stability Control help provide added security to any journey. Meanwhile, you’ll find the Rear View Camera with Backup Assist Grid Lines to be a useful device when backing up in tight spots. For even more visibility, you can upgrade to the available 360-degree camera, which uses four separate cameras to provide a complete view of the Expedition’s surroundings.

While the Ford lineup is no doubt impressive, the 2018 Expedition might be the most remarkable of its vehicles because of the incredible utility it provides. For more details on this capable SUV, visit your local Ford dealership.
