Island Honda Loves the Aloha Initiative!
Island Honda and our sister store, Island Auto Center, recently donated 50 prepaid cellular phones and phone cards to the Aloha Initiative, a program which is providing much-needed hope and help – through respite stays on Maui and Oahu - to Japanese victims of the March earthquake, tsunami and nuclear crisis.
The phones provide Japanese guests and their local host families with immediate communication access to each other, allowing for greater independence, mobility, security and peace of mind.
Our dealership family also collected new and gently used clothing for the Aloha Initiative’s clothing drive, and brought them to the Kahului Hongwanji drop-off location before the visitors’ arrival in early July. For more information on the Aloha Initiative, call 280-1299 or visit www.alohainitiative.com. Top photo: Anne Oishi with Keith Regan, co-founder of the Aloha Initiative.
