Watching for the Next Best Thing
Lessons Learned at IMA

If we’ve learned anything at IMA in more than 17 years of continuous operation, it’s that the next best thing is always around the corner.

In a week’s time, we’ll be helping to facilitate the first of many chat sessions for NYC Ballet’s Balanchine 100 celebration. Last week, we converted a video tape to digital format for IATSE Local One’s membership. And last month, we enhanced IATSE International’s opening Flash sequence by composing and integrating an original musical score.

The Internet has always been, and, certainly for the foreseeable future, is a moving target.

As the Web evolves and users have better technology (including high-speed access) and higher expectations, our clients look to us for the “next thing” – enhancements of sound, of motion, and of interactivity.

That means we have to keep abreast of the changes in the industry, and incorporate best practices in our own offerings as the Web evolves.

The New York City Ballet’s mini-Balanchine site, available from the home page at www.nycballet.com, is certainly one of our best efforts in combining the “next best things.” With streamlined animation, audio, interactive quizzes, and, coming next week, interactive chat sessions in real-time, it has come to symbolize the direction the Internet is going.

Check it out and see why for yourself.
