Thomas Sartwelle Becomes One of Fewer Than Ten Attorneys in the US Certified in Both Legal Malpractice and Medical Malpractice by the American Board of Professional Liability Attorneys

Thomas P. Sartwelle, a partner in the Houston office of Beirne, Maynard & Parsons, L.L.P. was informed last week that  he had successfully passed the written examination given by the American Board of Professional Liability Attorneys for board certification in the area of Legal Malpractice. Mr. sartwelle has been a Diplomat of the Board(board certified) in Medical Malpractice since 1997. Fewer than ten attorneys in the USA are Board certified in both Medical and Legal Malpractice by the ABPLA. 

The American Board of Professional Liability Attorneys is certified and approved by the ABA as the only organization in the country to give board certification exams in the areas of medical malpractice, legal malpractice, and accounting malpractice. In order to sit for the four-hour written examination, the candidate must show competency in the area by demonstrating in a very lengthy written application that he has experience in the area and has tried cases involving legal malpractice issues. 

In addition to being board certified in medical malpractice and legal malpractice by the ABPLA , Mr. Sartwelle is also board certified in civil trial law by the National Board of Trial Advocacy, another ABA approved certifying organization, and Personal Injury Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.
