Peter Crystal, One of ILN's Founding Members Steps Down as Managing Partner - Thanks for the Memories
Memery Crystal LLP, London
Memery Crystal senior partner Peter Crystal has stepped down after almost 30 years in the role, with the firm appointing a new executive board in his place.
The members of the management committee took up their new roles on 1 May, when Crystal’s term as senior partner officially ended.
Peter Crystal has decided to step down as senior partner of Memery Crystal after almost 30 years. The firm will not have a senior partner going forward but instead embraces the change as an exciting opportunity for the firm to build on its growth in recent years and engage the next generation of younger partners. The firm has therefore established a new management structure to meet the future needs of the firm comprising a newly-elected executive board. The board consists of Managing Partner Harvey Rands and equity partners Nick Davis, Lesley Gregory and Alex Read. The executive board has delegated more authority to heads of departments and has appointed more senior professional managers.
Peter Crystal commented "I am immensely proud of everything that Memery Crystal has achieved over 30 years and the time is right for me to step back and pass the reins to the younger partners. I will continue to work as a full-time partner and to develop and strengthen relations with clients, assist younger partners to build their practice and take the lead on charitable and pro-bono initiatives of the firm."
Harvey Rands, Managing Partner commented "Peter founded and has led Memery Crystal to where it is today. We all look forward to working with Peter for many years to come and will continue to gain from his invaluable contribution. The new executive board has introduced changes and commenced projects which will deliver substantial benefits for clients and all who work at the firm."
