ILN Member Merton E. Marks to be a speaker at an American Conference Institute program on International Commercial Arbitration in New York City April 30-May 1, 2008

ILN member Merton E. Marks, an arbitrator and mediator in Scottsdale, Arizona, USA, will be a speaker at an American Conference Institute program on International Commercial Arbitration in New York City April 30-May 1, 2008. He will discuss specific types of arbitration clauses in international agreements and their legal implications. He was also a panelist at a January program in Seattle on “Doing Business with China” where he discussed the use of arbitration agreements in contracts between U.S. and Chinese entities as a means of avoiding litigation in Chinese and American courts.

Mert is the only member of the ILN who is a full time arbitrator and mediator and specializes in domestic and international commercial arbitration and mediation. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and an arbitrator for the American Arbitration Association and the Singapore International Arbitration Centre.

Lefèvre Pelletier & associés appoints 3 Counsels in the areas of financing and private equity

As part of the development of its M&A and financing activities, Lefèvre Pelletier & associés
recently appointed 3 attorneys to the position of Counsel: Pierre-Emmanuel Chevalier, Dimitri
Pubellier both from the private equity department and Barna Evva, who specialises in real
estate financing.


Pierre-Emmanuel Chevalier, aged 32, has been an attorney with Lefèvre Pelletier & associés since
2004. Pierre-Emmanuel Chevalier specialises in private equity and leveraged buyouts. He assists
French and international investment funds with LBOs and the acquisition of stakes in listed and
unlisted companies and real estate investment funds. A graduate of Université de Paris I, he holds a
DEA in business and economic law and a DESS in foreign trade law. He was admitted to the Bar of
Paris in 2001.


Barna Evva, aged 37, an attorney with Lefèvre Pelletier & associés since 1999, began his career at
Gide Loyrette Nouel in the real estate financing department in 1997. Barna is a specialist in real estate
financing, structured financing and the structuring of real estate investments. He is a graduate of Essec
and Université de Paris II (DESS in litigation and arbitration and masters in taxation and business
law). He was admitted to the Bar of Paris in 1998.


Dimitri Pubellier, aged 33, a Lefèvre Pelletier & associés attorney since 2002, began his career at the
Paris office of Norton Rose in 1999. Dimitri Pubellier specialises in M&A, LBOs and financial and
securities law. He assists French and international investment funds as well as industrial groups (listed
and unlisted companies). Dimitri Pubellier holds a DJCE and a DESS in taxation and business law
from Université Lyon III as well as a masters in econometrics. He was admitted to the Bar of Paris in
2001.

WolfBlock Intensifies Energy and Environmental Practice Efforts
WolfBlock, Philadelphia

Philadelphia -- February 6, 2008 -- WolfBlock is pleased to announce that it has contracted with Roy M. Palk, Esq. to assist the firm in expanding its practice in the areas of energy and environmental law and associated topics. Palk, retired president and chief executive officer of the East Kentucky Power Cooperative located in Winchester, KY, has 37 years of executive-level utility management experience in the generation, transmission and distribution of electricity, including several national and international assignments.

Palk will assist WolfBlock both in servicing its existing clients and with new client development in the energy field. He is a national honor society graduate of Tennessee Technological University and the Nashville School of Law where he was elected president of the school’s Honor Council. He has spent his career in the energy field, including working within the TVA region and having served as the CEO for several electric cooperatives in the areas of generation, transmission and distribution. Palk has also served as the assistant general manager and corporate counsel to the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA) in Washington, DC. He also serves on the boards of several national and regional energy associations as well as serving on the boards of two colleges and universities.

WolfBlock Elects Seven New Partners

Philadelphia -- February 1, 2008 -- WolfBlock is pleased to announce that seven of its attorneys have been elected as partners of the firm effective February 1, 2008. Newly elected partners Jennifer Biderman, Jennifer Blum Feldman, Elizabeth Grzywacz, Aliza Karetnick and Joshua Weinberger are resident in the firm's Philadelphia office; Christian Beltz is resident in the firm's New York office; and Mayeti Gametchu is resident in the firm's Boston office.

Beltz is a member of WolfBlock's Real Estate and Real Estate Structured Finance Practice Groups. He focuses his practice on the acquisition, disposition, financing and refinancing of commercial and residential real estate, with particular emphasis on credit tenant lease, conduit, sale-leaseback, multistate, multiproperty and mezzanine financings. Beltz has represented commercial banks, investment banks and other financial institutions in connection with real estate financing, as well as the acquisition of whole loans, mezzanine and participation interests. Additionally, he has represented both landlords and tenants in connection with the negotiation of commercial real estate leases. Beltz received his J.D. from Fordham University School of Law in 1994 and his B.S. from Fordham University in 1991. He is admitted to practice in New York and Connecticut.

Biderman is a member of WolfBlock's Business Litigation Practice Group. She represents clients ranging from individuals to large public companies in a variety of litigation including residential real estate and construction, mortgage lending and securitizations, commercial real estate, intellectual property, class actions, consumer fraud and contract and business matters. She received her J.D. from Temple University School of Law in 1999 and her A.B. from Lafayette College in 1996. Biderman is admitted to practice in both Pennsylvania and New Jersey as well as in the U.S. District Courts, Eastern District of Pennsylvania and the District of New Jersey.

Feldman is a member of WolfBlock’s Employment Services Practice Group. She focuses her practice on preventive counseling and compliance. Feldman also advises employers regarding compliance with federal and state employment laws, drafts employer policies and agreements, audits employment practices, advises corporate attorneys regarding employee issues arising out of client acquisitions and sales, assists clients to satisfy affirmative action obligations, investigates employee harassment, discrimination and retaliation claims, represents clients in administrative proceedings before the EEOC, DOL and similar state agencies and provides training to in-house counsel, managers and other employees. Feldman has significant experience as a litigator, defending local, regional and national employers in both single-plaintiff and class-action lawsuits. Feldman received her J.D. from Harvard Law School in 1998 and her B.A. from Cornell University in 1995. She is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

Gametchu is a member of WolfBlock's Business Litigation Practice Group. She provides representation to clients in the high-technology, financial services, communications, retail and manufacturing industries in business and intellectual property disputes. She also represents institutions and high net worth individuals in connection with disputes involving closely held corporations, trusts and estate matters and related fiduciary duties. She received her J.D. from Harvard Law School in 2000 and her B.A. from Williams College in 1997. Gametchu is admitted to practice in Massachusetts.

Grzywacz is a member of WolfBlock's Financial Services Practice Group. She focuses her practice on the representation of financial institutions in all aspects of commercial lending, including asset-based financing, second-lien financing, mezzanine financing, real estate acquisition, development and construction financing, health care financing, general secured financing, lease financing, tax-free financing and loan workouts. Grzywacz also represents businesses in financing transactions with lenders. She received her J.D. from Temple University School of Law in 1997 and her B.A. from the University of Scranton in 1993. Grzywacz is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

Karetnick is a member of WolfBlock's Business Litigation Practice Group. She represents private and public companies in complex commercial litigation including trademark, contract, employment and securities class-actions as well as general business disputes. She also has extensive experience with governmental and regulatory investigations. Representative clients include a closely held national weight-loss company, a publicly traded mortgage company and a national bank. Karetnick previously served as a Shestack Public Interest Fellow and divided her case loads between general litigation at WolfBlock and civil rights litigation at the Public Interest Law Center of Philadelphia. She received her J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania in 1998 and her B.A. from Bates College in 1993. She is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

Weinberger is a member of WolfBlock's Tax Practice Group. He concentrates his practice in the area of federal income tax planning for all types of commercial transactions with a focus on real estate transactions, including partnership matters and like-kind exchanges, as well addressing the concerns of private and public REITs, pension funds and other tax-exempt organizations. Weinberger received his J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School in 1999 and his B.A. from Yeshiva University in 1995. Weinberger is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania.

 The Delhi Integrated Multi Model Transit System Limited, (DIMTS) a Joint
Venture Company with 50: 50 percent contribution from Government of National
Capital Territory Region of Delhi and Infrastructure Development Finance
Company Limited., with an objective to control rising congestion, air
pollution, fuel consumption and road accidents in Delhi. DIMTS will be implemented
in Delhi by various methods of transportation like monorail, elevated
rail system, high capacity bus service etc. In view of the mandate given by
Government of Delhi DMITS in collaboration with IDFC which is also a joint
venture partner is formulating a scheme for participation of private corporations
and co-operative societies for eventual replacement of blue line buses in
Delhi in order to control the operation of private operators and reduce the
number of accidents in Delhi. DIMTS has appointed Singhania and Partners,
as legal consultants for preparation of scheme and eventual implementation of
the project. The Project which is formulated for Delhi is a unique system by
which the buses will be run in Delhi under GPS (Global Positioning System)
with new facilities including the system of smart card which can be used in any
modes of transportation in Delhi. The entire system of transportation will be so
coordinated in such a way that the entire transportation system runs smoothly
in Delhi. The mandated project includes formulation of scheme, preparation
of bid documents and for eventual agreement for implementation of project.
The project which is being implemented for Delhi is expected to be better than
the systems run in other parts of developed world.

 Madhya Pradesh Housing Board (MPHB) - Advising MPHB, a Government of
Madhya Pradesh undertaking, for developing 32 acres in Bhopal for
redevelopment under the Re-densification Scheme of the Housing and
Environment Department. The project includes commercial complex/business
centre comprising of office space, commercial space, multiplex/entertainment
area, hotel and commensurate residential areas, with emphasis on providing
public facilities and overall commercial development of the area in partnership
with a suitably identified investor through bid-processing.

 Denel (Pty) Ltd. - A series of international commercial arbitrations relating to
cancellation of major defence procurement contracts awarded to South African
Comapny Denel. The Chairman of the arbitral tribunals is Lord Slynn of Hadley
and two former Chief Justices of India are co-arbitrators.
Punjab State Electricity Board - Acting as legal advisors to PSEB in two 2000 MW coal based thermal power plants in punjab in consortium with Power Finance
Corporation through Tariff Based Competitive Bidding.
The mandate includes advising the client on regulatory support in terms
of compliance with the Electricity Act 2003, Central/State Electricity Regulatory
Compliance; Drafting of documents like RFQ/RFP, Power Purchase Agreements,
Fuel Supply Agreements, Shareholders Agreement etc., due diligence
of bidders’ credientials and finally transferring the special purpose vehicle to
the selected developers.

The first is related to the National Union of Public Servants, concerning recreational business and related properties.
