DaVinci has been with us a little over a month now and he is doing wonderfully. He has settled in considerably well. There is still some separation anxiety, but we are working on making him more confident about being alone. He is a joy to have around and everyone likes him. One of our neighbors used to have a an iggy-whippet mix and he always comes up to pet him whenever he sees us. The cat has even started trying to play with him now, although I think DaVinci is afraid of him when he does that (they are same size, but Icarus is heavier). They both get jealous if one is getting attention.
We are planning to take him down to Austin for the playdate next month. It is pretty far south for us, but I think it will be a lot of fun. My sister is actually good friends with Shelby, who runs the meet-up group, and she was really excited when I told her we were adopting an Italian Greyhound.
