Malibu is a 2-yr-old, wild Irish seal female. She came into IGCA Rescue with many others from a puppy mill while she was still caring for her last litter of puppies.   Malibu was a great Mom and she will never be forced to breed again.
Malibu was clearly a weaker member of her previous pack.  “Mallie”, as she is known to her foster family, is learning to interact with the humans and now even comes up to her foster parents for attention. She is a little snuggler once she learns to trust you. At around 10.5 pounds, she is the perfect cuddling size!  Her son Kennedy and foster brother Phoenix are bound and determined to get her to play and her foster whippet sisters help her feel secure.  She goes for walks with the pack and is learning that sounds don't hurt and you can just keep walking!

Malibu is crate trained and potty trained.  She is also familiar with potty pads and will use them if necessary. Malibu will require a secure, stable and kind alpha female in her new home so that she never feels it has to be her job.  She is terrified of children and warms slowly to men. Even though she has been through a lot in her short life, her inner Iggy is still intact and it shows more and more every day. While Malibu will require a quiet, patient home, they will be rewarded with years and years of love and loyalty!

Update:  Malibu broke her leg on 3/14/09.  She has had surgery and several months of rehabilitation.  She is now completely healed!  Her leg repair has cost IGCA Rescue $1,500 in addition to her standard vetting.  If you can make a donation to help offset her expenses, please click the PayPal button below.  You are not required to have a PayPal account  in order to donate.  If you would prefer to donate by check, please click the Donations button on the blue bar above.
Since she is still a little shy with strangers, she would like to start interviewing her new suitor family soon so they have time to get to know each other!
