A leading manufacturer of Pretzel products, located in the southwest, was ready to upgrade its inkjet printing system. The existing system was becoming less reliable and the outdated user interface in its Controller was leading to increased downtime.
The production plant operates three packing lines where product is inserted into cartons, then sealed and moved to a secondary pack-off line. It is in the pack-off line that cartons are imprinted with critical coding data on three panels: top and two sides.
The manufacturer called in the specialist from ID Technology to review the current system and recommend a better solution. With this information, John Cervantes and the IDT team went to work immediately. In addition to the customers input, Mr. Cervantes knew from past experience, the recommended system would also need to be robust, reliable and user-friendly.
The specialist from IDT reviewed the customer requirements and recommended upgrading to a FoxJet Alpha Coder with a MarksmanPro Controller. The new inkjet system was mounted directly to the in-line conveyors and seamlessly integrated into the customer’s existing material handing equipment.
During the six months since installation of the upgraded IDT inkjet system, the customer has experienced increased uptime, easier information changes and the added benefit of enhanced print quality.
