What Patients with PIDD Need to Know

When the H1N1 vaccine becomes available, all family members of patients with primary immunodeficiency diseases (PIDD) should be immunized to prevent them from bringing home the swine flu virus to expose the patient with PIDD.  However, it is also recommended that all members of the family group be vaccinated with the seasonal “flu shot.”

The IDF Diagnostic and Clinical Care Guidelines has been one of the IDF's most popular publications. Since the first Guidelines was originally published in 2006, many things have changed. Subcutaneous IgG administration is common, health insurance appeals require different input and the new guidelines reflect these and other changes.

Visiting Professor Program
Accepting Requests for 2010

IDF is currently accepting Letters of Request for the IDF & USIDNet LeBien Visiting Professor Program for next year. The Program fosters improved knowledge about the diagnosis and treatment of patients with primary immunodeficiency disease. It is available to teaching hospitals without an Immunology program in the United States.
