Honda’s bestseller is a Canadian favourite
Canadian-built Civic is packed full of quality

These days, new car shoppers are more concerned than ever about getting a good deal. Thousands of Canadians are checking out the competitive compact car market and expecting their hard-earned money to go farther than ever. A no-nonsense ownership experience and high value are becoming major priorities—as is choosing a vehicle that supports the Canadian economy.
When it comes to delivering on all of these fronts, few machines can match the reputation and quality delivered by the Honda Civic. A long-time bestseller, Civic is a Canadian-built model that’s gained a reputation for high resale value, reliable operation and safety.
Though Honda is a Japanese brand, the Civic represents one of the various models they build right here in Canada. In fact, Honda celebrated the manufacture of their 20-millionth vehicle in North America earlier this year. Nearly a quarter of those were built at the Honda of Canada Manufacturing plant in Alliston, Ontario.  Honda began local production in Alliston back in 1986.
“The production of 20 million cars and light trucks in North America was achieved through the ultimate in teamwork by our suppliers, business partners and dealers working together with Honda associates to create joy for our customers,” said Tsuneo Tanai, president & CEO of Honda of America Mfg., Inc. and head of Honda’s production operations in North America, covering Canada, U.S. and Mexico.
With 4,600 associates, Honda builds the Civic sedan and coupe alongside the Acura CSX sedan and MDX luxury utility vehicle at its two Alliston plants. Fuel-efficient 4-cylinder engines are also produced at an engine plant adjacent to Canadian manufacturing facilities.
Put simply, building cars in Ontario lets Honda support thousands of Canadian jobs on both a direct and indirect level.
Being Canadian-built is far from the Civic’s only selling point-- and the machine also has a long and impressive resume of achievements and awards. Various industry authorities have recognized Civic for its value, reliability, consumer satisfaction ratings and resale value.
The current Civic is also a Top Safety Pick, according to the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety or IIHS. This means it’s passed crash-impact testing with flying colors. Finally, Civic has been the best-selling car in Canada for over a decade. A look over its trophy rack leaves little wonder as to why.
Interested in a test-drive? You won’t be disappointed. Civic offers lively driving manners, a spacious and accommodating interior with plenty of storage space, and numerous options and packages for customization.
The Civic Sedan starts the model range at $16,990, while the sporty and sleek Civic Coupe is priced from $17,190. Excitement your thing? A high-performance ‘Si’ designated Civic model is available in either 2 or 4-door body styles, delivering sportier performance via a 197 horsepower engine and six-speed manual transmission.
If you’re looking to minimize your environmental impact, the nicely loaded Civic Hybrid sedan is priced from $27,350. In addition to reduced emissions, it averages fuel consumption figures around 4.5L / 100km.
