The move represents an expansion of NCL's Homeland Cruising program, placing one of its biggest ships in Alaska for a total of three Freestyle Cruising ships in Seattle and Vancouver, B.C. for seven-day cruises beginning May 2004.

Norwegian Star will join Norwegian Sky, the first ship to ever homeport in Seattle, for the Alaska season departing Sundays beginning May 23, 2004. Norwegian Sky begins her Alaska season on May 15th sailing from Vancouver to Seattle, which she will call home for the season. On May 22, 2004, she begins sailing out of Seattle every Saturday through August. Norwegian Sun, which sails from Seattle in 2003, moves to Vancouver, B. C. for the Alaska season in 2004.
