Carnival Conquests Golf Program Offers Top Courses
Golfers of any proficiency level will have the opportunity to play some of the most beautiful and challenging courses in Mexico, Jamaica and Grand Cayman, as part of the comprehensive on-board golf program aboard the new 110,000-ton Carnival Conquest.

Set to launch year-round seven-day service from New Orleans Dec. 1, the new 2,974-passenger vessel - the largest in the "Fun Ship" fleet - will also feature an on-board golf professional who conducts golf clinics and private lessons in the ship's netted and covered "driving range" and accompanies golfers during organized golfing excursions.

The program, managed by Sunrise, Fla.-based Elite Golf Cruises LLC, also features priority tee times, equipment rental, golf accessories and apparel, and comprehensive group and golf tournament services.

Featured courses on the Carnival Conquest's week-long western Caribbean sailings from New Orleans include:

THE WHITE WITCH (MONTEGO BAY) - Located at the world-renowned Ritz Carlton Resort, White Witch is one of the Caribbean's most popular courses and has played host to Shell's Wonderful World of Golf tournament. Golfers' experience is enhanced by their own caddy offering insight into the course's unique attributes (extra fee required). Non-golfers can join the excursion to enjoy the resort's tennis courts, pools and other facilities for a nominal charge.
SUNRISE FAMILY GOLF CENTER (GRAND CAYMAN) - This par-3 course features many beautiful holes ranging from 60 to 160 yards in length - perfect for beginners or those wishing to practice their short game. Sunrise Family Golf Center boasts small, manicured greens and many "water holes" - unusual for a par-3 course. Simply an excellent value and wonderful opportunity for families and couples to experience the beauty of island golf.
COZUMEL COUNTRY CLUB (COZUMEL) - Created by the renowned Nicklaus design team, the new Cozumel Country Club is the island's first and only championship-caliber course. Carefully sculpted out of the Mayan jungle, the 6,724-yard course maintains the natural habitat of the island with lush foliage, native trees, mangroves and wetlands, resulting in a truly spectacular golf venue.

White Witch, Sunrise Family Golf Center and Cozumel Country Club are just three of the more than 30 courses available through Carnival's fleetwide golf program, which offers golfers the opportunity to play top courses throughout The Bahamas, Caribbean, Mexico, Bermuda, New England and Canada.

Like other Carnival "Fun Ships," Carnival Conquest will also house a lighted and netted "practice range," which protects golfers from the elements and allows for day and nighttime lessons. Lessons, which are available in 30- and 60-minute increments, are complemented by state-of-the-art "V1" teaching computers that provide split-screen, side-by-side comparisons to top tour professionals. A take-home video re-cap of the lesson, including voice-over analysis by the shipboard professional, are available for those guests who want to continue their instruction back home. The "V1" software can also be purchased on board for use in golfers' home computers.

All-inclusive golf excursions include golf pro escort, priority tee times, round-trip transportation between ship and course, and cart and green fees. Golfers can also rent top-of-the-line Callaway clubs and Adidas golf shoes and purchase golf apparel and accessories - golf balls, gloves, hats, etc. - in Carnival Conquest's "pro shop."

Prices for Carnival Conquest's all-inclusive golf packages, including golf pro escort, are as follows: $45 for Sunrise Family Golf Center in Grand Cayman (nine holes), and $140 and $160, respectively, for Cozumel Country Club and White Witch in Montego Bay (18 holes). Professional shipboard lessons range in price from a $25 "swing check" to $45 for a 30-minute lesson and $80 for a complete one-hour video analysis with a private instructor. Course information is available by visiting www.carnivalgolf.com. Guests can also stop by the shore excursions desk once on board. (Source: Carnival Cruise Lines)
