Networking - bringing business to your door. Are you looking for an alternative to spending marketing dollars to get the business of strangers? Consider "Networking"! Networking refers to working with people who can be a source of leads in a reciprocal relationship. Examples of networking would be if you are a member of a local chamber of commerce or other business organization, whether it be locally or online. You can network anywhere. Generally your clients are being introduced to you via someone they know and trust.
The following guidelines will assist you in effective networking.
- Always have business cards handy.
- Exchange business cards.
- Write notes on the back of cards you receive to remember details.
- Introduce yourself to others.
- Give leads or referrals whenever possible.
- Follow up with the people you have met
