Ideas to Start & Grow Your Business
Looking for ideas to assist you in beginning to market yourself as a travel agent? Just starting to build your clientbase? In order to assist our agents we have listed several ideas that may be beneficial to growing your travel business.
- Start with Family & Friends - Be sure to ask for referrals and give them business cards to pass out for you.
- Network - Work with others who can be a source of leads and who you can provide leads for. The local chamber of commerce is a good place to start.
- Work with Churches & Synagogues - Let members of the congregation know that you are a travel. Consider advertising in newsletters.
- Use your Affiliations - Market yourself through your existing memberships and affiliations, for instance sports leagues, Elks Club or the PTA.
- Ask for Referrals - Don't be afraid to ask! Include additional business cards with every thing you send out to your clients. Give a small gift to anyone who provides a referral that turns into a sale of a cruise or tour.
- Use Newsletters & Mailings - Keep in touch with your clients. Provide useful information about destinations, resorts, cruises, tours and specials with a call to action.
- Approach Pied Pipers - Groups are the best way to increase your income. Affinity groups, specialty groups and family reunions are just a few possibilities. The pied piper is the one person who has the most influence over the group. Offer the pied piper an incentive for booking with you.
