Sales Tip of the Month
This idea was presented by Ron Horne, our Business Development Director with Carnival Cruise Lines, during our recent Miami Fam.

Implement an Athletic Club Affinity Group! Athletic Club Groups can be a great way to grow your business. Co-marketing with a local Athletic Club can be beneficial to both businesses.

Set aside time to make phone calls to your local athletic clubs. Ask to speak to the Manager or Owner. Plant the idea or seed to do a cross promotion with them. You can promote a group departure to the members of the club. You can use the owners or a popular fitness instructor as the group leader. We can put cruise posters and flyers all around the club. Two to three direct mail pieces and some local newspaper ads can help build the group. Additionally, you can have a cruise night or two during the club's peak hours to answer questions and close sales.

What does the Athletic Club have to gain from this promotion?
1) Owners or fitness instructor can earn a free cruise.
2) The Athletic Club provides a service that members can't get at other clubs
- Offer a special discount if they book by a certain date.
3) Special classes can be set up on the cruise for the group
. This will help build customer loyalty.

Nobody loses in this selling scenario. Carnival and the agency co-op on the advertising and cruise nights. The agency has the ability to grow it's sales and reach more prospects. The Athletic Club provides them a unique opportunity to it's members and differentiates itself from the competition.

Call them today! These phone calls will not take a lot of time. This idea could also be used for dive shops or golf communities. Be Proactive!
