My Walls Have Holes
This is My experience with repairing my walls and some tips
By Average Joe

As we slowly pulled off the Wall paper from our living room walls we shocked and concerned to see a less than perfect wall underneath.  Our wall was old! The house was built in 1923 so the walls were plaster and crumbly.

As I stared at the walls hoping that they would mysteriously heal, I grew more and more concerned about our plan to paint. I decided to find my local expert, Harvey's Hardware, they have an expert on everything.  Actually they are real people who have exeperience from doing their own home repair.

I discovered that what I needed to do was tighten the walls with Wall Screws, then use joint compound to fill in the holes, follow that up with wall patch.  Well here are my experienced tips about this.

First: make sure that the you pay a little more for the spatulas that you use to lay the joint compound on.  If the tools is to flimsy that it is going to be a lot harder to spread an even coat on.

Second: once you lay the stuff on do not try to get all the imperfections out.  You will end up spending a half hour on each hole because, each time you touch the area you will mess up the good work you did.  Sanding will solve the bumpy wall problem.

Third: Once you are completed with all the repairs and you have to sand, SAND GENTLEY, because new holes will form.  Also use the edge of the sander on the edges of the repaired area in order to make it plush to the wall.

Fourth: If you have the means I highly suggest finding a professional.

We are now done with the primer and the walls look good, so lets keep our fingers crossed and when we are done painting I will share that experience as well.
