ITU Nurses > Are you looking for an assignment that's care-intensive?

Look no further….

If you have ICU/ITU nursing experience to levels 2 and 3, come and join our specialist ITU/ICU nursing temps service. We have lots of ITU nursing jobs in London, and around the UK and Ireland.

• You’ll receive superb benefits and excellent rates of pay attached to each position (Band 5 and 6).

So what’s so different about Health Professionals?

• Unlike other specialist nursing agencies, we don’t offer extra benefits and incentives to convince you to work through us rather than other agencies. We’re confident that our rates of pay, solid service and our support are incentive enough…

We make it easier for you to care. We focus our energies on arranging block bookings within Intensive Care so if you’re in a position to work a number of long days or nights a week within an intensive care department, we would be delighted to find you work.

Our clients help us to make it easier for you to care. Some of our private and NHS hospital clients offer flexible accommodation options, enabling you to stay over onsite for a couple of nights without having to commit to weekly room rent.

You’ll feel like part of a team. We’ll do all we can to make sure you fit in with our clients’ ITU teams. For example, some of our clients will supply you with their hospital uniforms and ID badges so you feel part of their team from the start.

• Our ITU nurses return to our established clients time and again. Generally, ITU agency nurses are perceived as not working with high acuity patients; rather being apportioned the more mundane care duties. But being a Health Professionals’ ITU nurse enables you to build trusting relationships with our clients, who will put their trust in your skill and experience over time. So, you won’t need to worry about becoming “deskilled” whilst being on an assignment, because you’ll work your way to being at the centre of intensive care.

Learn as you care. Knowing how well you’re nursing is so important – whatever the stage of your career. We always give our agency nurses feedback from our clients, and don’t wait for formal appraisals to do this. Feedback is important for us, as well as our nurses, so we can work together to give our clients (and their patients) the best possible levels of care.

• We’re here to support you, as well as your career. We offer continuing professional development, with all mandatory training being provided free of charge, and also have a professional training fund in place, should you wish to attend a conference or course relating to your specialist area.

In the past, we’ve contributed to the cost of Health Professionals’ ITU nurses travelling to America to attend an international Critical Care Conference.

Earn as you care. We recognise your experience in ITU, and whenever possible, will negotiate a higher band to reflect your level of experience.

We’ll supply you with a full breakdown of rates when we make contact with you. Health Professionals is part of a number of NHS agreements and our rates are very competitive for this area of critical care, our specialist nursing area.

For example, our rates for working outside of London at band 5 is £25.22 to £40.35 per hour and Band 6 (which we often negotiate for experienced ITU nurses) is between £29.14 and £46.62 – rates quoted are inclusive of holiday pay at 12.07%

Rates within inner London attract a higher level of rates - full breakdown of rates on contact.

• We have an open day on Wednesday 7th October 2009 for any nurses who wish to come into our Knightsbridge office and speak to our ITU Nurse Consultants.

• Do you have a friend that would be interested in joining our ITU team? If yes then forward this email to benefit from our refer a friend scheme*

What are you doing now?

If you’re ready to be a Health Professionals’ ITU nurse, you will…

• Have recent experience of working in Intensive Care nursing.
• Have completed a recognised ITU course (however, we will take into account your experience if you do not have the ITU course)
• Be free to work at least two shifts per week.
