Here is this month’s update:
 
  • Health Professionals are now approved contractors under the London Agency Project. Details and Pay rates below.
  • Due to a high demand and interest, we are holding an information session on interesting alternatives for registered nurses to working in clinical environments. Register now as event takes places on Thursday 28th April 2005.

News Update: We are now Approved Suppliers of Midwives and Specialist General Nurses for London.
 
Health Professionals has been selected to provide both midwives and specialist Hospital/Community nurses to ALL London Hospitals in inner and outer regions of London under the London Agency Project. This new contract starts in August 2005.
 
We have achieved probably the highest pay rates for specialist nurses for nurses with experience in the following areas and we invite you to compare our rates with other approved suppliers. Band 7 rates for nights are £26.45 per hour while day rates are above £21 per hour for experienced midwives. We suggest that you contact us over the coming months to register and receive details of our full pay rates.
 
We are approved to supply to all London Hospitals the following category of nurses.
 
  • Midwives and General Nurses.
 
Community and Hospital Specialist midwives, Health Visitors, District Nurses, Research/Audit Nurses, Occupational Health Advisers, Oncology/Haematology Nurses, Practice nurses, Nurse Advisers (NHS Direct) and School Nurses.
 
We will also be holding presentations in June and July 2005 for nurses interested in working for us. If interested, please add your details to our online database so that we can keep you informed of upcoming lines of work to start in August 2005.
 
 
 
 
Office Based Positions

The varied role involves offering advice and support on new drugs over the telephone. These positions are highly sought after for nurses wishing to work in a non-clinical setting but still be able to use their nursing expertise.

Elizabeth, an experienced American nurse currently working as a Senior Manager in Cardiothoracic ITU in London will be happy to chat with American nurses interested in working in London in the next six months.

Recruitment Administrator-Part time/Full time position (flexible hours)

We are seeking an energetic dynamic individual to join a team of committed people.

Combined Clinical/Recruitment Consultant
 
A unique opportunity has arisen for the right individual who wishes to maintain their clinical skills and develop new skills in the field of recruitment. The main purpose of the role is to:
 
  • Plan and carry out direct clinical duties involving IV Therapy in a number of NHS Hospitals in Central London and ad hoc within patient’s homes.
 
  • Develop and provide recruitment support for Health Professionals.

Temps assignments.
 
We also have lines of work for nurses with experience in travel vaccination and travel advice or have worked within an Occupational Health setting. (Please contact us immediately if you have this experience and wish to start ASAP)
 
We also have interesting lines of work with a new NHS support organization. The work is non clinical and the hours are between Monday and Friday, 9-5. Please contact us immediately if you wish to be considered.

Recent assignments for our temps nurses range from working with film production companies on location in Scotland to working within specialist educational facilities for the blind.
 
 
NMC Update.
 
The NMC are introducing “The Overseas Nurses Programme”. This is a compulsory 20-day period of protected learning for all nurses trained outside the European Economic Area (EEA) and, where appropriate, a period of supervised practice. Applicants will be required to complete a programme in order to qualify for registration with the NMC. This is being phased in from 1st September 2005.
 
We encourage you to start your application now if you are planning on working in the UK over the next 12 months to avoid the extra work involved in gaining registration.
 
Health Professionals has a long history in helping nurses with the final stages of achieving registration. We suggest you start the process and let us know when you are required to send back your documents so we can keep track of the process.
 
 
 
Our New Address.
 
Please note that we have now moved into our central London Office on Knightsbridge, located at number 67 Knightsbridge, in between Hyde Park Corner and Knightsbridge Tube Stations, within close proximity to Harrods. Our new office is conveniently situated for nurses newly arriving, who wish to chat about opportunities in London. We will also host presentations by our clients, training sessions by our experienced trainers, and social gatherings, enabling you to be totally geared for a career with Health Professionals.
