Where will history show you were in the most important showdown fought in this city in our lifetime?
It is well known that the defeat of General Santa Anna by General Sam Houston and his men on April 21, 1836 at San Jacinto led to the independence of Texas, and ultimately our statehood. What is not known is what would have happened if Houston and his men had either not fought or had not won. Fortunately, we only have to speculate.
Their courage altered the course of history and impacted the future of the state and nation forever.
The national enemies of traditional marriage and family have targeted our city for takeover and have established a beachhead for the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgendered, etc. agenda. We have an opportunity NOW to turn the tide nationally by retaking that ground for the sake of our faith, our families and for religious freedom.
As did theirs, the Battle of San Jacinto 2011 – for the soul of Houston - will determine a course for this city, state and the nation that will reverberate for generations. Will courageous pastors and men rise up and have our “San Jacinto moment” to stand and defeat forces that are attacking everything good, decent and godly in the third largest city in America?
