Bill White’s "Gay Pride"
by Dave Welch
Bill White, former mayor of Houston and current candidate for governor, is no stranger to the annual GLBT Pride Parade in his home city. He proudly marched in it every year he served as mayor and did not disappoint the sexual diversity crowd this year. White was joined by Houston city council members Yolanda Jones, Sue Lovell, Jarvis Johnson, C.O. Bradford and Steven Costello – and of course, Mayor Annise Parker on June 26 for the 2010 parade.
Also proudly waving from his car as he rode down the parade route, was Democrat Harris County District Clerk, Loren Jackson. Two of the most grievous and offensive elements of the parade were that is was opened and led by uniformed Houston Police Department officers and a squad car, later followed by the Houston Fire Department.
Houston citizens’ tax dollars, elected officials, and emergency service personnel reveling in a festival of sexual behavior that would shock most people – and should. There is no shortage of video materials to graphically illustrate what this lifestyle and agenda are really about. However, I felt it important that pastors and Christian men of greater Houston see that this is happening in our city, on our watch and now with the formal, official blessing of our mayor, so I drove to Montrose armed with video camera.
Imagine watching children from toddlers to teenagers not just at the Pride Parade (by the way, it is not “Gay Pride” for reasons I’ll explain in a moment),

The TRUTH about Hispanic representation in Social Studies standards!
SBOE member Ken Mercer provides a video commentary
As an elected Member of the Texas State Board of Education (SBOE) I am appalled by the repeated lies of the Far Left regarding the new 2010 Social Studies standards.
Here are just a few of the lies you have heard and read:
- Thomas Jefferson erased from history
- Role Minorities (Hispanics and African-Americans) dimished from history
- Standards failed to follow "expert" recommendation
(This) video will address the ugly lie that Hispanics were erased or diminished from our new 2010 standards.
Editor’s Note: To review the Social Studies standards and see for yourself how terribly they have been misrepresented by liberal politicians, organizations and media, go to http://www.tea.state.tx.us/index2.aspx?id=3643. Mayor hopeful says D.C. families 'in trouble'
Says “fix the families” to fix society
http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2010/jun/27/ma...
by Deborah Simmons, Washington Times
The face of Leo Alexander is a familiar one to longtime viewers of NBC's Washington affiliate, where he covered local news for several years.
Reporters got to see another side of the Ward 4 resident when he became a public information officer for the now-defunct D.C. General Hospital. These days, Mr. Alexander is making a name for himself in the mayor's race.
Like the top contenders - Mayor Adrian M. Fenty and Council Chairman Vincent C. Gray - Mr. Alexander attends forums where he is grilled on such issues as unemployment, ethics, education and joblessness.
Unlike Mr. Gray and Mr. Fenty, Mr. Alexander occasionally sounds more like a conservative than either of the establishment candidates. Mr. Alexander, who announced his candidacy in September, stands apart by opposing illegal immigration and same-sex marriage.
He also parses an entire chapter of the conservative handbook by sounding the alarm on the breakdown of the family.
"We're in trouble," Mr. Alexander says in a June 23 post on dcwatch.com.
He starts out by painting a picture of the demographics of a D.C. middle school where he recently delivered a commencement speech.

Kagan and the left despise true science
by Bryan Fischer, American Family Association
June 30, 2010
Dear Pastor,
In Shannon Coffin's piece in National Review Online, Coffin makes the startling revelation that Elena Kagan and her eugenically-inclined comrades were willing to make up medical science on the fly to justify sucking the brains out of half-delivered babies.
According to Coffin, the Supreme Court, in striking down Nebraska’s ban on partial-birth abortion in 2000, relied on specific language from a "select panel" of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG), which presents itself as a nonpartisan group of physicians.
According to Coffin,
ACOG declared that the partial-birth-abortion procedure "may be the best or most appropriate procedure in a particular circumstance to save the life or preserve the health of a woman." The Court relied on the ACOG statement as a key example of medical opinion supporting the abortion method.
When President Bush later signed a federal ban on partial-birth abortions, federal judge Richard Kopf enjoined the ban (later overturned by the Supreme Court) and spent more than 15 pages citing ACOG's statement and lauding the scientific integrity of the process that led to the statement.
Here's the shocker. The central statement, the one the Supreme Court relied on in 2000, was not written by either obstetricians or gynecologists. It was written by policy hack Elana Kagan.
