Another Vital Election Coming Soon!
Texas Primary Election March 2

Primary Election on March 2, 2010!

Early voting will begin on February 16 and we are asking all Pastors to implement the following steps for worship services between now and March 2.

(Your County Elections office will have a listing of all early voting locations and Election Day polling places)

Primary elections are VERY important as they decide which philosophy each political party’s candidates represent in the General Election this fall; fiscal responsibility or “tax and spend”, pro-life or pro-abortion, pro-traditional marriage or pro same-sex “marriage”, etc.

Please review the following information and call us if we can provide additional information to you, answer any questions or assist you in any way possible.

Patriotism or just PO'd?

The political breath of fresh air that swept through Massachusetts this week like an old-fashioned "nor'easter" gave hope that the government takeover of health care and the radical agenda of the Marxist/Democrat machine can be slowed or stopped. The fact that it occurred near where another "shot heard 'round the world" occurred on the 19th of the month (April) was particularly sweet.

As usual, let me be the fly in the sugar bowl for a moment to remind us of some important facts. First, anything close to center and certainly center-right from the Commonwealth was a huge victory.

However, lest we pin too much hope on Scott Brown, it is important that we remember some critical facts. First, he represents a state that has given us Ted Kennedy, John Kerry, Barney Frank and – I know I'll raise some ire with this inclusion – Mitt Romney … all center to very far left on a legitimate scale of true conservatism.

This political victory was desperately needed to throw grease under the drive wheels of the Obama/Reid/Pelosi locomotive. The fact that it also represents the uprising of the Common Joe to take our government back is inspiring. With that stated, here is the question we must answer; "How did we get from John and Sam Adams to Ted Kennedy and Barney Frank to begin with?"

January 14, 2010

With the release of the Manhattan Declaration back in November, Christians all over the country boldly reaffirmed the importance of traditional marriage for our society.

The Declaration’s logic is compelling. Let me read a short excerpt: “Vast human experience confirms that...where marriage is honored, and where there is a flourishing marriage culture, everyone benefits—the spouses themselves, their children, the communities and societies in which they live. Where the marriage culture begins to erode, social pathologies of every sort quickly manifest themselves.”

Well, I couldn’t agree more, simply because of what I’ve witnessed in 34 years ministering inside the prisons with Prison Fellowship. Every time I set foot inside a prison, I see the results of splintered families. So many of the prisoners I talk to tell me about growing up without dad.

Indeed, the Department of Justice reports that more than 60 percent of prisoners grew up in households without a father. Some 70 percent of juveniles in state-operated institutions come from fatherless homes.
