Pastor, I am both excited and shocked. Excited about what God is doing in our city and that we are working together more than ever. Shocked when I recently found out that less than a mile from our building is an abortion clinic. So, I thought that we need to pray together and work together to see that changed. When the thought of praying and working together arose...so did my introduction to 40 Days of Life. Please check out their website at http://rs6.net/tn.jsp?et=1102654740931&s=215&e=001wFFTHi9DdZfYEVQ_5lU_uq5dM6wI30Gufsg-vwcK0mxDSolM0Jg5xp2YLl25aogUKBrVW7r5epB2VZsHrZf6Fm9bA1Njnx1Tvw6-zjHqppMW-qkmoaLx6PRhce_7RtRU. They are a nation-wide organization that works with believers to pray peacefully in front of abortion clinics to bring awareness to the community and prayerfully the end to abortions. It was the 40 Days of Life campaign last spring that opened my eyes to the fact that we have an abortion clinic within our target area. Elizabeth McClung is a the director of 40 Days for Life in the Austin area. She is a sharp and articulate spokesperson that will be very effective in encouraging and empowering our churches to action. As a pastor in the northwest part of town, I'd like to invite you out to a special luncheon with Elizabeth McClung on Wednesday, August 19 from noon to 1pm. I would prayerfully ask you to come and listen and come and share your thoughts and insights as to how we can work together peacefully and prayerfully to reduce (and end) abortion in our area. Please contact me trey@northwestfellowship.com if you plan to come. It's a brown bad lunch...so bring some food to eat. This is a very serious and timely meeting...I hope to see you soon, Trey Kent, Northwest Fellowship |
