While trying to pursue long-term priorities like health care reform, the Obama Administration and Congress continue to be confronted with new challenges on an almost daily basis.  The FY 09 war supplemental, which was scheduled to go to conference last week, has been held up because of proposals to address new money for flu preparedness, a program to encourage the purchase of new cars, IMF funding, the release of prisoner abuse photos, an exit strategy for Afghanistan, and the closing of Guantanamo.  We’ll try and keep you updated as events continue to unfold.
