The
vastly successful New York film and TV tax credit program, which brings millions
of dollars in work and industry into the state is in trouble. They've run out of
funding and the governor's office has "no
new allocations proposed in the budget." Already, feature films and TV
pilots are finding elsewhere to shoot; 19 pilots shot in New York last year -
this year, there are none. The tax credit program is a proven winner, with
studies showing it
could be expected to keep or create about 19,500 jobs while yielding $404
million in tax revenues.
Help keep film and TV production in the tri-state area by contacting state
officials and asking them to pledge their support for refunding the New York
film and TV incentive:
