Today, we bid a fond farewell to most analog TV transmissions as casualties of the DTV transition.

Gotham salutes their years of loyal service and hopes they have gone where good signals go.

• A handful of analog stations will stay on the air for up to 30 days as a "nightlight" to let off-air only viewers know what happened - see http://hraunfoss.fcc.gov/edocs_public/attachmatch/DA-09-1303A2.pdf for a complete list.
   
• Low Power stations are exempted from today's deadline. See http://www.dtv.gov/MasterLowPowerList.xls for a list of these stations.

And a few notes:

• Some frequency blocks will fare better than others with today's transition, since those DTV stations above 700 MHz must move to their permanent assignment below 700 MHz. For a complete list, see http://www.dtv.gov/FULL_POWER_STATIONS_LIST.xls
   
• For example, Block 25 will gain spectrum, but Block 23 will lose spectrum due to DTV stations shifting around.
