Turn Off That Mic!
A Gotham Public Service Announcement
Pop quiz, hotshot. You're at a televised conference, but it's lunch and you
want to talk with a colleague. Do you:
A) Quietly turn your microphone off, so you can speak in relative privacy?
B) Not give the microphone a second thought and become the topic of choice
for talk shows, newspapers, comedians, bloggers, and conspiracy theorists for
several days? (Or decades, in the case of comedians and conspiracy theorists)
If you said A, congratulations! You may safely continue to use microphones at
will. If you said B, well, at least you're famous.
