Volkswagen Says Farewell to the Beetle with the 2019 Volkswagen Beetle Final Edition
The Volkswagen Beetle exits the market in style

For decades, the Volkswagen Beetle has been one of the most iconic vehicles in the entire automotive industry. Unfortunately all good things must come to an end, and production of the Beetle is set to end sometime in 2019. Still, Volkswagen isn’t letting the Beetle expire without a swan song. That’s why the automaker is releasing the Volkswagen Beetle Final Edition.

Retro looks

The Final Edition Beetle will be available in both the SE and SEL trim levels. Its design language harkens back to many of the Beetle model’s most iconic looks. For example, the vehicle’s color scheme is reminiscent of the available colors of the first generation 2003 Volkswagen Beetle Última Edición. While the Última Edición was only available in beige and light blue, the 2019 Volkswagen Beetle Final Edition will come offered in Safari Uni and Stonewashed Blue along with Pure White, Platinum Grey and Deep Black Pearl. The 2019 Volkswagen Beetle Final Edition comes equipped with a unique brown soft top for its convertible configurations. Together, these aesthetics provide the final VW Beetle with a throwback retro look.

Contemporary amenities

While the 2019 Volkswagen Beetle Final Editions’ exterior aesthetics may be a call back to the model’s past, its state-of-the-art technologies and features illustrate the best that VW currently has to offer. Much of this tech is accessible via the 6.3-inch capacitive touch screen display. To keep up with the modern driver, the 2019 Beetle Final Edition can also come equipped with the most advanced Volkswagen driver-assistance technologies. Such systems include the Blind Spot Monitor Rear Traffic Alert system and rear Park Distance Control. Of course, the powertrain of the final VW Beetle will also be advanced. Under the hood is a 2.0-liter TSI® engine that produces up to 174 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque.

The loss of the Volkswagen Beetle will be quite difficult for its biggest fans. Nevertheless, if the Beetle does indeed have to go, then the 2019 Volkswagen Beetle Final Edition is one impressive final bow.
