December Specials: Christmas Giftware Countdown!

Itís that time of year again! Our annual Holiday Giftware Sale is in full swing at The Granary Farm and Mall stores! This year weíve decided to do something different. The Granary is having a Countdown to Christmas sale on all giftware (this excludes Amish wood). Choose from candles, woven throws, OSU items, Holiday home accents, table linens, lamps and more! The list goes on and on, so be sure to stop out and see everything we have! From December 5 through December 11 all of our great giftware items will be 15% off regular price. From December 12 through December 18 all giftware will be 20% off, December 19 through December 24 25% off. And finally, just for you after Christmas shoppers, all giftware will be 30% from December 26 through December 31. The longer you wait, the more you save! However, supplies are limited. For the best selection shop early! These unique items will not last long at these prices!

This month, we are proud to feature our extensive line of Amish Childrenís Furniture! We currently have tables, chairs, rockers, high chairs, rocking horses and Amish made toys in stock and ready to go under the tree! We have both square and round tables available, along with bow, acorn or bow sheaf back chairs. Choose from light or dark oak, or seely stain! Looking for something new? We now have mission style childrenís table and chair sets! Is there a new baby on your shopping list? We have Amish high chairs in stock and ready for Christmas. Choose from bow back, acorn back and bow sheaf style. We also have youth chairs for the big boys and girls!
Did you have a handmade, wooden rocking horse as a child? Why not put one under the tree for your child this Christmas? These sturdy, solid wood handcrafted horses are made to withstand years of use. Holiday Hours

The Granary mall store will be open from 7 AM to 10 PM on Saturday December 20, 9 AM to 9 PM on December 4,5,11,12,15 & 16, 10 AM to 9 PM on December 1,2,3,7,8,9,10 & 14, 8 AM to 10PM on December 6, 13, 19, 22 & 23, 8 AM to 9PM on December 17, 18 & 26, 9AM to 10 PM on December 20, 9 AM to 10PM on December 21, Christmas Eve 8 AM to 6 PM, and will be closed on Christmas Day.

The Granary farm Store will be open regular hours except Christmas Eve & New Year's Eve when we will be closing at 3 PM.

Holiday Recipes

This Christmas, why not try one of these great recipes from The Gooseberry Patch: Home for the Holidays Cookbook.

This first recipe is perfect for Christmas morning! Get up early and serve warm while opening gifts!

Quick Coffee Cake
Judy Borecky

1 pkg. White or yellow cake mix
4 eggs
1 sm. Pkg. Coconut or vanilla pudding mix
ĺ c. water
ĺ c. oil
1 T. vanilla extract
3 T. sugar, mixed with 1 Ĺ t. cinnamon
1 c. chopped walnuts

Using mixer, mix ingredients (except sugar, cinnamon and walnuts) until well blended. Pour batter into a sprayed 10 ĹĒ x 13Ē pan. Sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar; then sprinkle walnuts and bake in a preheated 350-degree oven for 30 minutes. Drizzle icing over coffee cake and serve.

2 T. milk
1 t. vanilla

Whisk together well.

Whatís better than a Christmas ham? Try this new twist on an old favorite!

Baked ham (w/Cherry glaze)

1 5lb. canned ham (or any ham)
16 oz. Can pitted dark sweet cherries
ľ c. sweet wine
1 T. sugar
1 T. cornstarch
1 T. lemon juice

Bake ham in 325-degree oven for 1 Ĺ to 2 hours. After ham has roasted for one hour, make the glaze. Drain cherry liquid into a 1-quart saucepan, stir in sweet wine, sugar, cornstarch and lemon juice. Cook over medium heat stirring until mixture boils and thickens slightly; boil for one minute. During the last 30 minutes of baking, brush ham frequently with some of the cherry sauce. When ham is done, arrange slices on a warm platter. Stir cherries into remaining sauce in pan. Heat thoroughly. Spoon some cherry sauce over ham on platter. Serve remaining sauce in a small bowl.
