Featured Item: Friendship Upholstery
The Friendship Upholstery Company has been a trusted friend and supplier of The Granary for many years, and we are always pleased to feature their items. The quality of Friendship’s product is tops in the industry. The quality starts in the frame. Each frame is constructed of hardwood maple and ash. Every joint is both screwed and dowel pinned to make them extra secure. The springs are then tied and secured in eight different directions by skilled hand craftsmen. The 8 way hand tied process assures a comfortable feel when it is time for you to relax at the end of a busy day. Next, top grade cushions are surrounded by Dacron poly wrap to create smooth, tailored lines. In the furniture industry, it’s the little things that set apart the good from the great. Friendship is no exception; they pride themselves in their tailoring and are especially particular about matching designs and plaids along the seams. Friendship upholstered items are built to last and withstand the demands of today’s active families. In addition to the most popular current styles of furniture, Friendship is also known for their great styles of period furniture. With sofa prices starting as low as $799.99, Friendship is almost to good to be true!
When buying a sofa there are some important things to keep in mind. With the overwhelmingly large selection of fabrics available, its is helpful to have a color or style in mind when you come in to look. If possible, bring in a sample (arm cover, carpet) to help you match your new upholstery to your room. Also keep in mind what room your upholstery will be sitting in. Will it be the primary TV sofa? Do you have children or pets? This will help you choose how durable of a fabric you want for your new upholstered furniture. When selecting fabric, remember that grade does not mean quality, its is merely a pricing structure. To select the most durable fabrics, look at the back. This will tell you how strong the fabric is. If you do have pets, it is important to know that all warranties are void if they are on your upholstery. Saliva protein has a tendency to break down fibers, and will accelerate the wear of the upholstery.
After you’ve purchased your Friendship upholstery, here are some helpful hints to make sure it lasts for years and years. Frequently flip and rotate your cushions to keep them in shape. Vacuum your furniture often. Dust around the house means dust on the upholstery. When possible, rearrange your room from time to time. Direct, hot sunlight fades fabric. Last but not least, try to keep pets off the furniture. By following these tips, you can effectively extend the life of your sofa/chair.
