Gooseberry Patch ~ For Bee's & Me
Tip of the Month
by Vickie & Jo Ann

Dear Friends,
Gardening is America's #1 hobby. With today's hectic lifestyles, we're spending more of our free time at home than ever before and what better way to relax than in your own backyard?
You don't have to be a horticulturist to enjoy For Bees & Me... we want to encourage and inspire not intimidate you! Our customers from around the country have shared their tried and true, garden-fresh recipes, memories, helpful hints, outdoor entertaining ideas, and easy-to-make herbal beauty potions and gifts from the garden. You'll discover simple garden pleasures like... pamper yourself with soothing herbal bath, cool off with an old-fashioned root beer float, decorate a garden hat with pretty posies, tuck a sprig of rosemary in a letter to a friend, and walk barefoot through your garden! From cover to cover, For Bees & Me is a bouquet of whimsical illustrations and gardeny delights.
Take time to savor the dancing shadows of the sun, the flight of a butterfly, the fragrance of sweet peas, the labor ant, and the summer shower. Your garden is full of wonder and with a bit of inspiration from For Bees & Me, a little piece of Eden could be as close as your own backyard!

                                                  With love from the garden,
                                                              Vickie & JoAnn

Potting Mix
Here's how to make your own potting mix for container gardening:

2 cubic ft. peat moss            1 handful 5-10-10 fertilizer
40 oz. bag perlite                 1 handful ground lime
    40 oz. bag vermiculite

Mix these ingredients well and make sure mixture is well soaked before
adding plants. You will need to water more often when using this "soil",
but the results will be well worth the effort.
