Cement Plant uses LCIs to Start Multiple Mill Motors

This cement plant uses synchronous motors started by LCIs to generate large savings through improved plant power factor. The motor starting system allows one LCI to start any of three motors and transfer them to the line, and continue running one motor under variable speed control if required for improved process control.

TM GE is pleased to announce it is offering a new drive system for sale that provides adjustable speed operation of wound-rotor motors. The new drive system controls the motor speed by controlling the flow of slip energy out of, or into, the rotor.
