Vehicle Profile: 2017 Jeep® Wrangler
The true off road icon continues to improve

Few vehicles on the road are more recognizable than the Wrangler, and Jeep® continues to find ways to improve the rugged SUV while still keeping brand loyalists happy.

The iconic Wrangler was recently named 4x4 of the Decade by Four Wheeler magazine. It’s also known for its impressive resale value, with Kelley Blue Book’s giving it a Best Resale Value award.

The 2017 Jeep Wrangler (MSRP $23,995) and four-door Wrangler Unlimited (MSRP $27,895) receive new LED headlights and fog lights  as well as a Cold Weather Group that is perfect for those who live in climates where winter is an unavoidable part of life. A remote start system, engine block heater, 17-inch BF Goodrich tires, all-weather slush mats, heated seats and a power convenience group are all included. The Wrangler comes in three new colors--Gobi, Chief and Acid Yellow--and Xtreme Purple is now available across the entire lineup.

The 2017 Wrangler and Wrangler Unlimited come in four basic models--Sport, Sport S, Sahara® and Rubicon®--as well as a plethora of packages and accessories to help you make your vehicle as unique as you are. The Wrangler is known for its Limited Edition models, so it’s no surprise that the 2017 model already offers a handful, including the Wrangler Winter, Freedom, Willys Wheeler, 75th Anniversary Edition and Rubicon Hard Rock.

Regardless of which model you choose, a 3.6-liter Pentastar® V6 engine with 285 hp and 260 lb/ft of torque is standard, with towing capability rated up to 3,500 pounds. This engine is paired to either a six-speed manual transmission or an available five-speed automatic. The Wrangler also offers several axle gear ratios, including 3.21, 3.73 or 4.10 depending on model, as well as your choice of the Command-Trac® or Rock-Trac® 4x4 systems. The Rock-Trac system is standard on Rubicon models, bringing best-in-class off-road performance numbers like a 42.2 degree approach angle, 25.8 degree breakover angle and 32.3 degree departure angle.

The Wrangler is so much more than just a brutish off-road vehicle. It can be equipped with luxurious amenities like heated exterior mirrors, automatic temperature control, an auto-dimming rearview mirror and remote start. Basic models receive cloth seats, but premium leather is available as you move through the lineup. Audiophiles will enjoy the available nine-speaker Alpine® audio system, Navigation system and Uconnect® Wi-Fi Internet Connection and Wi-Fi Hotspot.

Wheels range from 16 to 18 inches, and while the Sunrider® folding soft top is standard, you can also equip the Wrangler with a Premium Sunrider Soft Top or Freedom Top® three-piece modular hardtop.

All models come with a plethora of standard safety equipment, including Electronic Stability Control, Hill-start Assist, antilock brakes with Hydraulic Assist Braking and Electronic Roll Mitigation.
