The 2012 Jeep^® Wrangler Unlimited is the gold standard for many Wrangler enthusiasts. The four-door Wrangler Unlimited is perfect for off-road lovers who want to share good times with friends and do so in comfort. For 2012, the Wrangler Unlimited gains both on- and off-road capability, with added power, fuel economy and comfort.

 

The 2012 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited starts at an MSRP of $25,545. It comes standard with a new 3.6-liter engine with Variable Valve Timing that produces 280 hp and 260 lb/ft of torque through a six-speed manual transmission or a new available five-speed automatic. These numbers represent a 40 percent improvement in horsepower and a 10 percent improvement in torque over the previous engine, yet the 2012 Wrangler Unlimited model still found a way to improve fuel efficiency with up to 21 mpg expected during highway driving.

 

Across the entire lineup – Wrangler Unlimited Sport, Sport S, Sahara, Rubicon, Altitude and Call Of Duty^®: MW3 Edition – there are some impressive off-road numbers. When properly equipped, the Wrangler Unlimited offers a best-in-class 44.4-degree approach angle, a 40.5-degree departure angle and 10.1-inches of running ground clearance. Add in best-in-class 30-inch-deep water fording ability, a cargo capacity of up to 86.8 cubic feet, a choice of Rock-Trac^® and Command-Trac^® 4WD systems and towing capacity of 3,500 pounds, and you can see why the Wrangler Unlimited is one of a kind.

 

Wrangler Unlimited Sport: The Sport comes standard with the Sunrider^® Soft Top that allows sun in without opening the entire roof (a removable hard-top is also available), foglamps, speed control, air conditioning and the Media Center 130 with steering wheel-mounted controls and six speakers. A next-generation Dana^® 30 Solid Front Axle and Dana^® 44 Heavy-Duty Rear Axle, and a fuel-tank skid plate, are standard, as well.

 

Wrangler Unlimited Sport S: Sport S models add a Power Convenience Group that includes remote keyless entry, heated exterior mirrors, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and 17-inch aluminum wheels, plus the added security of deep-tint sunscreen windows.

 

Wrangler Unlimited Sahara: Sahara models add exterior upgrades including body-colored fender flares and top, tubular side steps and 18-inch wheels with OWL On/Off-Road Tires. Interior upgrades include a 115-volt outlet, a seven-speaker Infinity sound system and a one-year subscription to SiriusXM Satellite Radio.   

 

Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon: In addition to interior amenities, the Rubicon model adds a slew of off-road improvements including a Dana^® 44 Heavy Duty Front Axle, Electronic Front Sway Bar Disconnect and Rock Rails by Mopar^®. The Rubicon also includes a performance suspension and the Rock-Trac^® part-time 4WD system with Tru-Lok^® and an impressive 4:1 gear ratio that allows a lower crawl speed and increases low-end torque available to the wheels.

 

Wrangler Unlimited Altitude: As the most recent addition to the Wrangler Unlimited family, the Altitudeimpresses with its cosmetic upgrades. Altitude-specific floor mats and red stitching accents are added to the interior. The front seats are heated and covered in black leather with red stitching, also. Outside, you’ll notice the body-colored three-piece hard-top, black fuel door, a hood graphic and painted 18-inch wheels. The Altitude is available in four exterior colors: Black,Deep Cherry Red, Bright White and Bright Silver Metallic.

 

Wrangler Unlimited Call Of Duty^®: MW3 Edition: With a tagline of “The toughest vehicle in the world. Any world,” you know this model means business. The MW3 adds interior and exterior graphics to an already well-equipped model. The “Call of Duty” logo adorns the spare tire cover, front seats, slush mats and instrument panel grab handles. Other upgrades include a hood power bulge, winch-capable heavy-duty bumpers and 32-inch off-road tires.The MW3 edition is available in Black or Bright Silver.

Regardless of which model you choose, safety is a priority. Each model comes standard with Hill Start Assist, Electronic Stability Control with Electronic Roll Mitigation and Traction Control, Brake Assist with Brake Lock Differentials and a Tire Pressure Monitoring system. The airbag system includes front seat-mounted side airbags and dual-stage driver and front passenger units. A safety cage, body-on-frame construction and an energy-absorbing steering wheel and column help protect occupants in the event a collision does occur.
