The Ram 1500 Lone Star model makes up nearly 40 percent of all the Ram 1500 trucks sold in Texas, so to celebrate a full decade of selling the Texas-only pickup, Ram is proudly releasing an exclusive, special edition 10th Anniversary model.
The 2012 Ram 1500 Lone Star is a reflection of pride, really, both in the state of Texas and in the tough-as-nails pickup that’s served the people of the Lone Star State so well for so long. The special 10th Anniversary edition is based on the Ram 1500 Crew Cab configuration, and features larger, more prominent red, white and blue Texas-state “Lone Star” badging on the doors and tailgate. In addition to halogen quad headlamps, foglamps, 20-inch aluminum wheels (with locking lug nuts) and a host of available Mopar accessories, the Lone Star comes in seven colors, including, appropriately, Deep Cherry Red, Bright White and True Blue.
Beneath the hood, the Lone Star edition comes well-equipped with a commanding 5.7-liter HEMI
® V8 engine, which delivers an impressive 390 hp and 407 lb/ft of torque through a standard six-speed automatic transmission. With aluminum cylinder heads and platinum spark

plugs, the Ram HEMI delivers solid, dependable construction and modern efficiency. It even features variable valve timing and advanced Fuel Saver Technology, which allows the engine to shut down up to four cylinders to conserve fuel and achieve upwards of 20 mpg.
The 2012 Lone Star is built, as it’s always been, to fit the needs of everyday Texans. It has a maximum towing capacity of up to 8,500 pounds and a maximum payload of 1,455 pounds, enough to haul everything from trailers and boats to construction equipment and building materials with the integrated Class IV receiver hitch. As always, the Lone Star comes at the ready with legendary Ram off-road 4x4 capabilities.
The exclusive Lone Star Anniversary appearance package continues inside, where the tough yet comfortable interior of the truck features special “10th Anniversary” logos on the passenger glove box and embroidered into the floor mats. Special additions to the anniversary edition include bucket seats (with a ten-way power-adjustable driver seat), a leather-wrapped steering wheel with audio controls, and a 115-volt auxiliary power outlet. The cabin even gets 60/40-split/folding rear seats for added passenger and cargo flexibility.
As the best-selling Ram in Texas, the 1500 Lone Star edition has a state and a decade-old legacy to live up to, and the 2012 iteration is a pickup worthy of its iconic name. The special 10th Anniversary edition package runs only about $1,500, giving the Lone Star a starting MSRP of $36,440.
Texans can expect the 2012 Ram 1500 Lone Star in dealerships around mid-year.
