Summary

Logic Developer PLC is GE Fanuc's latest PLC programming software that is fully integrated into the CIMPLICITY Machine Edition development environment. Logic Developer PLC takes advantage of productivity tools such as the ToolChest, the Common Project Variable Database, and integration with other Machine Edition components such as View.

New Features

Logic Developer PLC Version 3.00 provides the following new features:

Ø       New Series 90-30 support:

o        IC693CPU374 -This new Series 90-30 CPU has an embedded high-speed Ethernet interface. It also supports the EZ Program Store device, up to 128 Ethernet Global Data (EGD) exchanges, EGD upload, and selective consumption of EGD exchanges.

o        IC693MDL648 -This 48-volt DC Positive/Negative Logic Input module provides 16 input points in one group.

o        IC693MDL748 - This 48-volt DC Positive Logic 0.5 Amp Output module provides eight output points in one group.

o        IC693PBM101F -This Horner Electric Profibus Master module supports 125 bytes of manufacturer-specific extra parameter data, which is an increase over the PBM101 module.

o        IC693PBM200 -This new Profibus Master module supports master communications on the PROFIBUS Decentralized Peripherals (DP) network. The PBM200 supports the following PROFIBUS network features:

Supports up to 125 slaves on a network and up to 255 input and 255 output data areas per master (as limited by memory of configured CPU).

244 input bytes and 244 bytes output for each slave.

Fully supports the use of GSD files.

The Profibus network configuration tool display the Profibus network in the Navigator under the PBM module.

o        IC693PBS201 - This new Profibus Slave module supports slave communications on the PROFIBUS Decentralized Peripherals (DP) network. The PBS201 supports 244 bytes input and 244 bytes output.

o        64K Motion Files -Support to download Motion files of up to 64K bytes in size to the Motion Mate DSM314 motion control module. This feature requires a Series 90-30 CPU that has firmware version 10.60 or later. The previous limit was 32K.

Ø       IC697BEM733 (Series 90-70 Genius Remote I/O Scanner) - The Genius Remote I/O Scanner (GR7) is an intelligent module that interfaces a remote Series 90-70 rack to a Genius bus.

The Genius Remote I/O Scanner supports standard Series 90-70 discrete and analog I/O modules, as well as PCM, ADS, and analog expander modules.

Logic Developer PLC also provides support to monitor the remote rack I/O by connecting to the serial port of the BEM733 module.

Ø       VersaMax IC200MDD851 -This input/output module provides two groups of 8 discrete 5/12VDC Positive/Negative Logic inputs and one group of 16 discrete 12/24VDC Positive Logic, 0.5A outputs.

Ø      New VersaMax Nano CPUs supported: IC200NAA010, IC200NAL110, IC200NAL211, IC200NAR010, IC200NDD010, and IC200NDR010.

Ø      New VersaMax Micro CPUs supported: IC200UDR003, IC200UDD112, IC200UAL004, IC200UAL005, IC200UDR006, IC200UDD120, IC200UDD212, IC200UAR014, IC200UAR028, IC200UEX009, IC200UEX010, IC200UEX209, IC200UEX210, IC200UEX211, IC200UEX212, IC200UEX213, IC200UEX214, IC200UEX215, IC200UEX222, IC200UEX616, IC200UEX626, and IC200UEX636.

Ø       New VersaMax Nano/Micro expansion units supported: IC200UEX013, IC200UEX015, and IC200UEX122.

Ø       Improved PLC Rack Power Consumption Details - The PLC rack node in the Navigator now displays a power usage indicator to the immediate right of the power supply node icon. The indicator shows 4 levels of power supply consumption for the rack: Low, Medium, High but under the limit, and Over the limit.

Ø       Improved application import capabilities :

o        Support to only import the Hardware Configurations portion of Logicmaster 90 and Control PLC applciations.

o        Support for import of Logicmaster 90-70 Hardware Configurations for individual Genius Remote I/O Scanner racks.

o        Support for importing Series 90-70 C Programs from Control.

o        Support for importing any kind of Series 90-70 C Programs (.exe and .sta files).

o        Support for importing Ladder Diagram (LD) Rung Comments from Control. This feature requires the Control folder to be updated with Control version 2.50 before import into Logic Developer PLC. Previously, these Rung Comments were lost on import.

o        Support for importing LD Block Descriptions from Control. LD Block descriptions can now be imported from a Control folder that has been updated with Control version 2.50.

Ø       Series 90-70 Word-for-Word Programming Changes: When logic is equal between a Series 90-70 PLC and the Logic Developer PLC programmer, single logic element replacement or single function parameter changes may be made to the LD logic in the PLC while online to the PLC without interrupting the execution of the program.

Ø       Reference View Table Improvements:

o        The Reference View Table now supports the display of ASCII values.

o        The Reference View Table now supports the display of data values from left-to-right, as well as the default right-to-left.

Ø       LD Editor Improvements:

o        Expanded Search Capabilities -When inside an LD Block, find of text by using regular expressions or wild cards is now supported. The search may also be narrowed to exclude comments and descriptions.

o        Expanded Ladder Logic Keyboard Entry - When entering LD instructions into the LD editor, you can specify in which row or column to drop a ladder diagram element (wire, contact, coil, etc.. Horizontal wires are automatically added in the first column and in between functions

Multiple rungs may also be entered using a single keyboard sequence.

o        Navigator Called Blocks List - Whenever an LD block calls other blocks (whether LD, IL, or C blocks), the Navigator now adds a Called Blocks node under the LD block.

o        The Called Blocks, Labels, and MCRs nodes appear under an LD block only if there is respectively a called block, a label, or an MCR in the block.

o        Call Block References - Selecting a block in the Navigator, or a CALL instruction in the LD Editor shows all calls to that block in the Reference tab of the Feedback Zone.

o        Goto Rung -When inside the LD editor, you can easily jump to a specific rung number by pressing Ctrl+G and typing the rung number.

o        Print Options Retension -The print options selected when printing LD Logic are retained as the defaults for the next print job.

o        PSB Parameter References - When you select a formal parameter in a PSB, the references to the parameter are displayed on the References tab of the Feedback Zone.

o        Write Value of Function Operand -The value of operands for an LD function may now be modified directly in the LD Editor when online with the PLC. A new value for an operand may be written to the PLC by selecting the right mouse Write Value menu item, or by typing Ctrl+Enter.

o        Online Tooltips - Hovering the mouse pointer over a variable in the LD editor when online with the PLC will display a tool tip with the variable's current value.

o        Scrolling in the LD editor now supports the mouse wheel.

o        Copy/Paste of Ladder Rung(s) to another document like Word is now supported.

Ø       LD Editor Online Monitoring Improvements:

When on-line with the PLC, the LD Editor displays a lightning bolt icon in one or more corners or the editor, depending on the size of the LD editor window.

The LD Editor displays the values of stale data in the Stale Data color defined in the Options tab of the Navigator. Question mark icons are also on discrete LD elements to indicate stale data.

Ø       Find in Target (Global) Search -Global searches are now supported, enabling a search of an entire target or various parts of a target for any text string. To perform a Find in Target search, select the Search > Find in Target menu item. In the Text to Find box, enter the search string. The search string may be a reference address and may also include wildcards. The results of the search are listed in the Search tab of the Feedback Zone.

Ø       Duplicate Addresses Option - In the Navigator Options tab under the PLC General node, the user can define whether mapping two variables of the same length and data size to the same reference address will cause an error, a warning, or no warning at validation.

Ø       Multiple Coil Use Warning Option - In the Navigator Options tab under the PLC General node, the user can define whether two coils mapped to the same %M or %Q memory location will trigger an error, a warning, or no warning at validation time.

Ø       Type Mismatch Warning Option - In the Navigator Options tab under the PLC General node, the user can define whether validation will issue a warning or not if a variable used for an operand is not of the same data type expected by the function.

Ø       LD Block Toolchest Support -Support to drag LD blocks to the Toolchest to create new fxClasses or update existing fxParts. You can also drag LD blocks from the Toolchest as copied, embedded, or linked LD blocks.

Ø        Cut/copy/paste support for LD blocks.

Ø       OpenProcess Templates -Support to preconfigure a CPU364, CPX772, or CPX935 Process Controller to support OpenProcess logic.

Ø       Advanced User Parameters for EGD -Support to create Advanced User Parameters (AUP) files in an ASCII text editor and use them to customize Ethernet firmware behaviors. This feature may be used for the CPU374 and CPUE05.

Ø       EGD Upload Improvements:

o        Uploading the Hardware Configuration (HWC) from a PLC that does not support EGD uploads will result in a blank EGD configuration on the programmer. To prevent this, new upload options are available to back up the HWC and retain the EGD when uploading from a PLC that does not support EGD uploads.

o        A new option is also provided to issue a warning when the user is about to download an EGD configuration to a PLC that does not support EGD uploads.
