Series 90-30 DeviceNet Slave Module
by Sebastian Seow

Summary

GE Fanuc is pleased to introduce the Series 90-30 DeviceNet Slave Module, IC693DNS201. This module provides the Series 90-30 the capability of a DeviceNet Conformance Tested DeviceNet slave.

The Module allows the Series 90-30 to be a slave on a DeviceNet Fieldbus and to pass up to 255 bytes of inputs to the Master and receive up to 255 bytes of outputs from the master.

Features/Description

The IC693DNS201 DeviceNet Slave module provides the Series 90-30 the capability to be a slave on DeviceNet network(s). The module is DeviceNet Conformance Tested and conforms to DeviceNet specifications. The DeviceNet Data Rates (125K, 250K, and 500 Baud) are supported. The Module can have up to 255 bytes of input data and up to 255 bytes of output data.  DeviceNet compliant Status LEDs for ¡°Module Status¡± and ¡°Network Status ¡± are provided, in addition a ¡°Network Power¡± LED is provided.

The following status information is available for the DeviceNet slave:

  • Slave Status Word
  • Firmware Module Revision
  • COMMREQ to Read Module Header

A RS232 service port is provided for firmware updates.

Compatibility

  • All current models of Series 90-30 CPUs with revision of 8.00 or higher will support the DeviceNet Slave.
  • CIMPLICITY Machine Edition Logic Developer Version 3.00 is required to configure the DeviceNet Slave Module. The DeviceNet Slave is not supported byVersaPro and Logicmaster.
  • The DeviceNet Slave Module can go in any I/O slot in a Main Rack, Expansion Rack, or Remote Rack (Note: performance will be decrease in Remote Racks).
