Series 90™ Trade-Up Program Update

It has never been easier and faster for your customers to upgrade to the latest GE Fanuc CPU and Communication modules. We made it easier by simplifying the paperwork. We made it faster by eliminating the must for sending the old hardware back to obtain the credit. Just follow a few simple steps and guidelines, dispose of the old hardware, and you are on your way to receiving your credit. We have also changed the way in which the credit amount is calculated. Instead of the old fix amount for each item, the amount credited is calculated as a percentage of list price. So if GE Fanuc's list price increase, so does your credit, without having to wait until next year for the forms to be updated.

Why Trade?

Simple, if a customer wants to have more functionality and performance for their process they can trade in a CPU331 for a CPU364 and receive a credit amount toward the purchase of a new CPU364. Or a customer that has a Series 90-70 CPU771 and needs floating point math can trade up to a high performance CPX772 and receive a credit at specified rate.

A customer may want to Trade-Up to upgrade their current Series 90-30 Genius Bus Network to Ethernet TCP/IP. Normally this would require the purchase of new modules and the customer would have to dispose of the used GCM+ modules. This would result in extra cost for the user and waste. With the Trade-Up program, GE Fanuc will give them a credit for returning the GCM+ modules toward the purchase of the Ethernet modules.

Trade-Up Guidelines

  1. Forms must be completed electronically. In order to receive the credit the distributor must send all forms and customer invoice(s) showing sale of the new hardware.
  2. The distributor is responsible for destroying or appropriately disposing of the customer’s old hardware. In the case that the distributor can not appropriately dispose of the hardware, then the distributor must send the hardware to GE Fanuc for disposal.
  3. Any credit requests above US$5,000 required local GE Fanuc Regional Manager’s approval.

How Credit Works

GE Fanuc Authorised Distributors and VARs:

  1. Distributor sends completed forms from F-07-01-09.XLS and copy of customer invoice(s) to GE Fanuc.
  2. GE Fanuc will issue a credit to the distributor using the P.O. number referenced in form F-07-01-09.XLS.

Trade-Up Program will expire December 31, 2001.

Please drop me an email if you need the forms, or please collect it from SalesBytes on line at GE Fanuc QuickPlace.
