Total Control, the leader in operator interface products, is pleased to bring you the new QuickDesigner Advanced version 3.5 editing software. QuickDesigner is a friendly Windows-based graphical editor common to all QuickPanel models.

At Total Control we understand how important it is to continually address the evolving needs of existing and new customers. That’s why, to ensure that QuickDesigner and QuickPanel Products are the undisputed leader in applications requiring operator interface products, we listen to customers when they provide feedback about improvements we could make, new features we could add, and new modules we could offer. Here’s a short summary of what’s new in version 3.5:
- ASCII Data Entry Tool:
The ASCII Data Entry tool is used to enter and display ASCII characters using word registers in the PLC. Data entry is made using a pop up data entry panel on the display.
- Hardwired Jog Tool:
The Hardwired Jog Button is a panel button connected directly to the QuickPanel’s Auxiliary Port. This new tool can dramatically increase the time response, and offer tighter repeatability of an output, to a touch of the screen by an operator. For added flexibility, you can have a jog button toggle a single bit or multiple bits.
- Print Project Documentation to a File:
The Project Print function allows printing of summary information and panel images for all or a part of a selected project. The report is saved to a file in a RTF format.
- Support for new QuickPanel Products:
The new 6" TFT Color LCD, part number QPK-3D200-C2P, is now supported by QuickDesigner version 3.5. The new 6" TFT platform features a high bright TFT display, faster screen updates, 64 colors, and 2 Mbytes of memory. Also, there are two new keypad options for the 9" and 10.5" displays. The part numbers are HMI-KPN-301 and HMI-KPN-302 for the 9" and 10.5" respectively. All keypads are field installable.
- Access to Online Knowledge Base:
Directly from the QuickDesigner software you can access the Knowledge Base page on the Total Control web site. You must have a web browser installed to view these pages.

Upgrade Option
We feel so strongly that the added features and capabilities in version 3.5 will make you more productive as you solve your operator interface applications, we have made it easy for you to upgrade. If you are located in Asia, and currently have a registered version of QuickDesigner version 3.4, you can upgrade to version 3.5 at no charge. Simply complete the request form, fax it directly to GE Fanuc at the number provided and a copy of version 3.5 will be sent to you. Make sure you have the serial number from your 3.4 version of QuickDesigner.
This offer begins May 1st, and expires June 30, 2001, so act now! Any request received later than the date will not be attended.
If you currently own a version of QuickDesigner 3.0 to 3.3, you can upgrade to QuickDesigner 3.5 by purchasing part number QDA-UPD-001. QuickDesigner 1.X & 2.X users can upgrade to QuickDesigner 3.5 by purchasing part number QDA-UPD-002.
