CIMPLICITY® SAFE for Plant Edition and Machine Edition
GE Fanuc is pleased to announce that the CIMPLICITY SAFE Program has been revised for HMI Plant Edition products and is being introduced for our Machine Edition Products.
New part numbers have been created that combine the sale of new Base Systems with one year of SAFE Gold Support. For customers with existing systems we have replaced the previous product structure based on the quantity of CIMPLICITY Systems with a much easier one based on the value of the actual systems the customer has. Simple, fair, SAFE!
What is CIMPLICITY SAFE?
CIMPLICITY SAFE is the support program for the CIMPLICITY software products that provides customers with access to the Technical Support Help Desk as well as software product upgrades and service packs that may come out during the year. Customers are required to have a SAFE contract in place for all their CIMPLICITY computers per facility location in order to receive the benefits of technical support and no-charge upgrades.
Revised CIMPLICITY SAFE Program
In an effort to continually improve the product we have incorporated several suggestions for improvement into the new program. These suggestions have lead to the revision of the existing program for the HMI Plant Edition Products and the launching of SAFE for our Machine Edition Products.
New Names – Same Solid Support
We have changed the name of the program - SAFE Gold programs which is sold on a yearly basis.

SAFE Gold provides access to the Technical Support Help Desk.
Plant Edition - 7am to 8pm EST, Mon. – Fri., excluding holidays.
Machine Edition – 6:00 am to 4:30pm MST, Mon. – Fri., excluding holidays.

SAFE Gold provides access to all software Service Packs and product version upgrades.
Base Products Now Available With SAFE Gold
A new set of part numbers has been introduced that couples the sale of a new Base system with one year of SAFE Gold support. This will greatly ease the selling process by providing a single part number and price for CIMPLICITY and a SAFE Gold support.
SAFE Gold for Existing Customers
Based on customer feedback, we have changed the product structure of SAFE for selling support to existing customers. Part numbers based on the quantity of CIMPLICITY Systems have been replaced with SAFE Gold, which is sold for each CIMPLICITY computer node. A new product and pricing structure has been put in place that sets the value of a SAFE Gold support contract at approximately 15% of the value of the Base system it applies to. This is much easier for customers to understand and much fairer overall.

Frequently Asked Questions
I have an existing CIMPLICITY SAFE contract. Now that SAFE is being sold individually by the size of the Base System covered and not by the quantity of computers running the product is my support agreement still valid?
- Yes. Your existing CIMPLICITY SAFE contract is still valid and all nodes that you purchased coverage for are still covered for the term of your agreement. When your renewal is due you will simply renew by purchasing the new part numbers.
Q. Is is possible to have the renewal date for my multiple SAFE contracts sychronized to a single date?
- Yes. Simply call SAFE Sales at 518-464-4999 and we can prorate your contracts to a single date.
Q. How does the SAFE order process work?
- Customers order SAFE for all the nodes per location. When a customer purchases a new system, include the pre-existing nodes at their facility. At the time of the order and to insure accuracy, customers can view their facility licenses via www.cimplicityregistration.com.
- What options are included in the CIMPLICITY SAFE Gold Program?
- Action Calendar, SPC, Recipes, System Sentry, Redundancy, Pager, Web View and Communication Drivers.
- How do I order upgrades for third party products not covered in the SAFE Gold program?
A. Upgrades for Options with third-party software are not included in SAFE and must be purchased separately as released. Options with third-party software include CIMPLICITY SQL, CIMPLICITY Report Manager, OmniServer Communications Drivers. Please consult Pronto.
Q. What will the customer receive when they purchase SAFE Gold?
A. The SAFE Gold Media Kit includes: Welcome Letter, cd-rom, a SAFE Activation Form, a System License.
Q. Is SAFE Gold Support necessary for the Competitive Key Trade-In Program?
A. Yes. The Key Trade-In Program allows a customer to return a competitor’s keys for a one-to-one exchange to CIMPLICITY software. Your customers wishing to learn and fully embrace the unique features of our product will have questions for our technical support team. We also wish to continue building a long-term relationship with our new Key Trade-In customers and look forward to providing them with the latest releases. SAFE will allow our new customers to call for support and allow GE Fanuc to cultivate a long-term relationship.
Q. How will customers order their free version upgrades?
A. From past experience, we have found that customers prefer not to receive blanket mailings of our free version upgrades from GE Fanuc and want to take control of their upgrade process. Customers will order their free version upgrades via the web at www.cimplicityregistration.com. Customers should bookmark this site so that they will remain current on their account history and order their free version upgrades.
