Trade Up Program
valid until 31st Dec 2001
by Joanne Lim
Series 90™ Trade-UP Program
Summary
Series 90™-70 CPUs can be traded up to the high performance CPX CPUs. Also, customers can trade up their Ethernet Type 1 for Type 2. The Series 90-30 CPUs are also included. The process is easy. Series 90 customers can trade existing CPUs and/or communications modules for credit toward the purchase of a more powerful processor.
Why Trade?
Simple. If a customer wants to have more functionality and performance for their process they can trade in a CPU331 for a CPU352 and receive a $400.00 (U.S.) credit toward the purchase of a new CPU352. Or a customer that has a Series 90-70 CPU771 and needs floating point math can trade up to a high performance CPX772 and receive a credit of $1300 (U.S.). Please note that the Series 90-70 CPU to CPX trade up allows for a CPM915 to be traded up to a CPX772 because of the higher performance.
A customer may want to Trade-UP to upgrade their current Genius Bus Network to Ethernet TCP/IP. Normally this would require the purchase of new modules and the customer would have to dispose of the used GCM+ modules. This would result in extra cost for the user and waste. With the Trade-UP program, GE Fanuc will give them credit for returning the GCM+ modules toward the purchase of the Ethernet modules. GE Fanuc will recycle the used modules for Repair & Return.

New Trade-UP Procedure
|
Step 1. Contact the customer and inform them of the program. Determine what they have and what they would like to trade up to. Use F-04-00-02A.XLS to select the appropriate trade-up and credit. |
|
Step 2. Adjust the new NDC (new NDC = Normal NDC - the credit) and mark up accordingly. (Suggested mark-up is 20%). |
|
Step 3. Sell the customer the new discounted module or CPU out of distributor stock. |
|
Step 4. Follow instructions on form F-04-00-02A.XLS and send it to GE Fanuc showing the amount of credit. Please note that a copy of the customer invoice must be attached to the form. |
|
Step 5. When the modules are received by GE Fanuc, including the form F-04-00-02A.XLS and customer invoices, GE Fanuc will issue a credit to the distributor using the P.O. number reference in form F-04-00-02A.XLS. |
Trade-UP Guidelines
Form F-04-00-02A.XLS must be completed electronically to joanne.lim@gefanucasia.ge.com In order to receive the credit the distributor must send form and customer invoices showing sale of the new hardware.
