Series 6 CPUs to be Discontinued from June 30, 2001:
Consistent with the limited availability of components, GE Fanuc will be discontinuing the Series Six CPUs effective June 30, 2001. Accordingly, customers may place orders for these products prior to June 30, 2001. GE Fanuc will no longer accept orders for these products after that date.
*Please takes note that the fulfillment of all orders is subject to component availability.
Next Step Program
GE Fanuc’s Next Step Program helps Series Six customers take the Next Step in upgrading to higher productivity. Utilizing Series 90 technology, Next Step provides state-of-the-art automation while leveraging your customers’ investment in Series Six.
Customers can choose from two options:
- Upgrade to Series 90 CPUs while maintaining their Series Six I/O or
Upgrade Series Six completely – CPU and I/O.
And there’s more: Software conversion services, on-site engineering services including system evaluation, system specification, design, installation and start-up, and training services are available.
Best of all, Next Step offers incentives, rebates, trade-in programs, and special conversion packages to help existing Series Six users take the Next Step. Enclosed three package options for ease of selection.

There are three different packages available for selection.
*Package # 1 includes:
- Series 90-70 CPX782
- 9 Slot Rack
- Power Supply PWR711
- S6PIO**
*Package # 2 includes:
- Series 90-70 CPX935
- 9 Slot Rack
- Power Supply PWR711
- S6PIO**
*Package # 3 includes:
- Series 90-70 CPX935
- 17 Slot Rack
- Power Supply PWR711
- S6PIO
* Package selection based on complexity of the existing configuration. The above package is for CPU conversion only
** S6PIO module is the Series 6 I/O interface module mounted in the 90-70 CPU rack
Following Engineering Services are available at additional prices:
1. Site Assessment by FSE to recommend the optimum package.
2. PLC program conversion support.
3. Start-up assistance.
