GE Fanuc Hits It Big in the Big Easy: First Users Conference a Complete Success!
More than 500 participants attended GE Fanuc’s first annual “Discover Series” Users Conference, May 23 - May 26, 2005, in New Orleans. The Discover 2005 Users Conference focused on sharing automation best practices to meet business challenges.
With 56 different sessions allowing attendees to customize their time and eight hands-on workshops, users gained valuable experience with groundbreaking automation applications and solutions. In addition, leading automation integrators presented new techniques for optimizing existing equipment assets, proven methods for achieving regulatory compliance, design practices for high availability systems, and many other topics.

GE Fanuc Announces a Major Upgrade to Proficy in 2005
New Open and Standards-Based Proficy™ Platform and Integrated HMI/SCADA Roadmap
GE Fanuc has unveiled a detailed roadmap for the Proficy™ Automation and Production software family – which spans from programming and control to HMI/SCADA to historian and MES to a real-time information portal. This year, GE Fanuc will deliver a major upgrade to Proficy with a data-model and event-based platform based on the Proficy Historian and Proficy Real-Time Information Portal technologies.
The new platform will allow users to standardize on a single manufacturing IT platform for managing real-time operations. The Proficy Platform will include packaged integration with enterprise systems and Proficy HMI/SCADA applications as well as provide an extended library of tools and published APIs for third-party development of applications.
