Dear Valued GE Fanuc Customer

Dear Valued GE Fanuc Customer:

GE Fanuc is pleased to announce to you our single unified software brand and technology architecture, Proficy™.

The GE Fanuc, Intellution, CimWorks and Mountain Systems software products you have grown to rely on through the years will now be known as Proficy from GE Fanuc.  I want to personally inform you, our loyal customers, of this important news before it is announced broadly.

What does this mean to you?

First, I want to personally commit to you that your existing investments will continue to be protected.  The GE Fanuc products you use now will continue to perform at the same high level and be available through the same means with no interruption to your existing environment.  This effort is part of a long-term initiative to bring the GE Fanuc products under a common installation, licensing, deployment and security model, which will result in a wide range of additional benefits to you.

What is Proficy?

Proficy is the new brand name of our integrated software solutions that offer a common infrastructure.  It is a reflection of an intensive engineering effort that allows us to provide you with a truly integrated, yet open set of solutions for your business.  Now more than ever, you have the option of implementing an entire unified software infrastructure from GE Fanuc or selecting a single application from our offering – giving you maximum flexibility to leverage your current and future investments.

Proficy solutions provide focused production management capabilities that will help you achieve the real-time enterprise across your business, with capabilities including:

  • Real-Time Information Portal
  • Asset Management
  • Plant Performance and Execution
  • HMI/SCADA
  • Integrated Quality Management
  • Plant-Wide Data Repository
  • Programming and Control
  • GlobalCare Support

With Proficy, GE Fanuc is offering comprehensive, versatile and user-friendly software that:

  • Is modular and scaleable
  • Provides a closed-loop, real-time connection between production and business
  • Supports a common system infrastructure
  • Has an open, layered architecture that preserves existing IT investments
  • Is easy to use and extremely configurable

For reference, please look over the complete listing of our integrated applications as they appear within the new product architecture.  This chart includes a reference to the former product brands, so you can begin to familiarize yourself with the new application names.  Also, I encourage you to see our new Proficy advertisement, which will begin appearing in industry-standard publications such as Control Engineering and MSI later this month.

With Proficy, you now have even greater access to our industry-leading functionality, versatility and performance to achieve the real-time enterprise across your business.  If you have any questions or have any concerns about our product direction, feel free to contact me directly at kevin.roach@gefanuc.com.  You can also contact your local GE Fanuc representative, who will always be available to help you.

Thank you very much for allowing GE Fanuc to be a part of your business.

Sincerely,

Kevin Roach

Vice President, Global Solutions Business
