Expansion and Peripheral Options

The Panel C provides a host of PLC features in a PC-based platform.  The feature set includes non-volatile memory for off-line variable storage, status LED's on the front panel, and hardware supervision functionality.  Panel C also provides PCI and ISA slots, a Compact Flash slot, and the optional ability to connect directly to GE Fanuc CNCs via I/O Link.

Ruggedness and Reliability

The Panel C offers a NEMA 4/4X (IP65) sealed front panel to provide protection in dirty or wet environments.  The PC's metal enclosure ensures lasting protection of the internal components, but it is also light-weight (<20lbs), allowing it to meet stringent specifications for shock and vibration.  The Panel C is certified for UL Hazardous locations (UL1604) and has CE Agency approval, making this industrial computer ready for almost any environment.

Maintainability

In addition to designing the Panel C to survive in rugged environments, GE Fanuc has also taken steps to ensure that in the unlikely event of a failure, field replacable items are quick and easy to access.  The hard drive and power supply are easily replaced, as well as ISA and PCI cards.  Whenever possible these devices are secured with thumbscrews, which minimizes tool requirements and saves time when it counts most!
