GE Fanuc
With GE Fanuc’s recent
acquisition of VMIC, you have a tremendous opportunity to improve your Series 90-70-based control
solutions. VMIC
has a wide variety of modules for the Series 90-70 and other expertise that will
help you reduce costs and improve the performance of your systems.
Examples are the analog I/O modules that will be offered for the Series
90-70.
Why
use the new modules? That’s easy:
performance, hardware savings and installation savings are just a few.
With up to 64 channels of analog on a single module, cost can be reduced
by as much as 50 percent. In addition to the reduced hardware cost, the modules are
also half-width modules that can be used in either a standard Series 90-70 rack
or an integrator rack. When the
modules are placed in the integrator rack, the I/O capacity is doubled.
Reflective
Memory is another key product from VMIC that will help GE Fanuc solve your problems.
Reflective Memory is a high-speed network, up to 170 Mbaud, that allows
multiple controllers to share large amounts of memory.
Typically Reflective Memory is used in the metals industry such as
aluminum rolling mills and is a growing need in the semiconductor manufacturing
market.
Another
strength for VMIC is their wide range of Single Board Computers (SBCs).
The SBCs can be used for a wide range of applications such as off loading
some of the data processing of a Series 90-70 PLC.
The benefit to you is higher performance and more efficient
process. Furthermore, SBC
integrates GE Fanuc’s software products, such as our CIMPLICITY suite and View
Station on the backplane of the Series 90-70.
The SBC and software integration improves data throughput and reduces
hardware cost and panel space.
