- High Density Analog I/O for the Series 90-70
GE Fanuc offers a wide range of isolated and high

GE Fanuc offers a wide range of isolated and high-density VME analog I/O modules that can be easily integrated into Series 90-70 controllers. With up to 64 channels of analog on a single module, cost can be reduced by as much as 50%.

In addition to the reduced hardware cost, the modules are also half-width modules that can be used in either a standard Series 90-70 rack or an integrator rack. When the modules are placed in the integrator rack, the I/O capacity is doubled.

The analog modules provide high-speed data to the controller over the VME backplane. There are six different analog input modules and nine analog output modules to satisfy a wide range of applications.

Application Benefits

  • High-speed analog processing for time critical applications. Selected modules have update rates up to 100kHz.

  • Isolated analog modules enable analog signals to be wired from different power sources with 1500V isolation.

  • The high-density analog modules enable panel space to be cut 50% to 75% or more. Traditional analog modules for the Series 90-70 had a maximum of 8 channels per module versus 64 channels now available.

  • The built-in test feature on many of the modules provides quick diagnostics and reduces down time. The built-in test checks the circuitry of the module and narrows down the point of failure.

  • High-density modules with cable connections can easily be terminated using the DIN Rail Transition Module, which provides a high-density screw terminal block with easy universal mounting.

  • Applications requiring high resolution can use the many modules available with 16-bit resolution.

Product Features

  • Diagnostics

On selected modules there are built-in test. In the test mode the Programmable-Gain Amplifier, Analog-to-Digital Converter and associated control logic can be verified for proper operation.

  •  Modules are half the width of traditional Series 90-70 modules

The high-density modules require less space because they are half the width of standard Series 90-70 I/O modules. Each module occupies one slot in a VME integrator rack. The integrator rack provides 17 slots for I/O modules versus 9 slots in a standard rack. However the modules are not limited just to the integrator rack and can be used in traditional racks.

  •  Product Integration

Integrating the high-density modules is easy using the simple configuration tool provided for each module.

  •  Compatibility

The high-density modules are compatible with all Series 90-70 CPUs and racks. Due to increased power consumption on the 5VDC supply, a high-capacity power supply may be required.
