GE Fanuc Software is proud to announce the release of VersaPro™ Version 2.00. Among other enhancements this release of VersaPro provides basic support for the Series 90™ -70 PLC. Please note that this release does not support all of the Series 90-70 CPU features. Please consult this bulletin for a detailed list of which features are supported and which are not.

Product Features

VersaPro Version 2.00 is available for all 3 VersaPro products : VersaPro Nano/Micro Edition, VersaPro Standard Edition, and VersaPro Professional Edition. These products provide PLC support as follows :

VersaPro Version 2.00 adds support for the following features:

  • Basic Support for Series 90-70 CPUs - Basic Series 90-70 CPU support, including the following:
    • Support for Normal, Timed, and I/O Interrupt Blocks
    • Support for C Blocks, including GMR C Blocks
    • Support for Indirect References (I.e. @%R00001)
    • Support for all Hardware Configurations, with the exception of FIP and the IC697CPU790 module
    • Support for the following CPUs: IC697CPU731, IC697CPU780, IC697CPU788, IC697CPU789, IC697CPX772, IC697CPX782, IC697CPX928, IC697CPX935, IC697CGR772, IC697CGR935, IC697CPU732, IC697CPU771, IC697CPU772, IC697CPU781, IC697CPU782, IC697CPM914, IC697CPM915, IC697CPM924, and IC697CPM925
    • Support for all Series 90-70 CPU Functions and Contacts
  • Coil Justification on Load and IL-to-LD Conversion - When Ladder Logic is loaded from the PLC, and when Logic is converted from IL (Instruction List) to LD (Ladder Logic), VersaPro will apply the user’s Coil Justification setting to the logic (if enabled).
  • Multiple VersaPro Instances – Provides the capability to run multiple instances of VersaPro on one PC, and monitor multiple PLCs at the same time.
  • Block Locking/Unlocking – Provides the capability to lock and un-lock LD and IL blocks. Provides the block lock capability for Edit Lock, View Lock, Permanent Edit Lock, and Permanent View Lock.
  • Error/Warning on Store to Incompatible CPU Firmware Revisions – Provides an indication that the PLC CPU firmware revision is not at the minimum level that was qualified with VersaPro. This feature can be set at 3 levels : Error on Store, Warning on Store, and No Check on Store.
  • Warning on Store to CPU with non-VersaPro Logic - Provides an indication that the PLC CPU Logic that will be over-written in the PLC was created by a Programmer other than VersaPro (Logicmaster or Control). This provides the user the option to cancel the store in order to prevent the over-write.
  • User defined header/footer for Print Report - Provides the capability for the user to define a custom header and footer in the Logic Print Out. This feature includes alignment options to left, center, and right justification of the text.
  • Size of Block Output to the Info Window - Provides an indication in the Information Window of the size of each block of logic when the block is compiled.
  • On Line View / Print of Use Tables - Provides the capability for the user to view PLC CPU memory Use Tables on-line (displayed in the Information Window) and in the Logic Print Out. The feature provides a picture of which reference addresses in PLC CPU memory are used by the user logic program.
  • Auto Folder Backup - Provides a mechanism to automatically backup the VersaPro folder whenever it is saved to disk. VersaPro keeps a copy of the last 3 (by default) backup files. The user can restore these files using the VersaPro Restore Folder feature.
  • Site License - Provides the capability to site license the VersaPro Professional Edition.

The following Series 90-70 features are not supported in VersaPro 2.00 :

  • Parameterized Subroutines (PSBs)
  • Sequential Function Chart (SFC)
  • C Programs, including GMR C Programs
  • Program Scheduling
  • Multi-Threaded LD
  • Micro-cycle Mode
  • IC697CPU790 (Required for GMR C Programs)
  • Word-for-word change
  • FIP
  • User protocol files
  • Redundant IP Address
  • Configuration of Series 90-70 Remote I/O scanner (IC697BEM733)
